I expected these to be double ended envelopes. I wanted to be able to take a sealed envelope out of
my pocket and depending on which end I cut off, get two different predictions. That's not how these
work. These envelopes are NOT designed to be sealed! You have to leave the flap sticking up
awkwardly during the performance. Why put something into an envelope if your not going to seal it?
Also , since the envelope is wide open the entire time, the spectator cannot be allowed to handle it
freely without the method being discovered. These envelopes would be best used for switching things,
the way you would with a himber wallet.
They do provide a method at the end of the DVD for using
two of the gimmicks to make a "sealable" envelope, but it's not the best design I've seen. The
envelope wouldn't be able to be handled by the spectator and the flap must be peeled back by the
magian, not cut.
Guess I have to get out the scissors and glue and make my own envelopes.
Sorry to hear you are disappointing with ConSealment. The type of envelope you were expecting that needs to be cut open has been described in several DVD's and books. I originally designed ConSealment as a two-way out that did NOT NEED cutting and could be reused. Your comment re switching in place of a Himber Wallet, is exactly one of my favorite uses of the envelope. If you want to introduce it in a more "secure" way, try placing a bulldog clip over the flap end. You can make your switch, as required, as the clip is removed. The DVD instructions also include a suggestion by Andrew Gerard where the envelope is actually clipped to a spectator's shirt pocket.
