Boring methods, boring presentations, boring performances… If you want to know how NOT to present
mentalism on stage, then you really need this DVD.
Let me tell you why I think this DVD
set is boring, we live on en era where mentalism must be dynamic and if you are doing stage or stand
up, must be combined with some kind of comedy, if not then you will have BORING MENTALISM. Besides
that, the revelation of every effect must be visual and for every member of the audience, if not you
are doing a close up effect for just the person is helping you on stage…
This is one of
the worst mentalism DVD I have ever bought.
A great Mentalism performance can have moments of levity. Derren Brown excels at this during his wonderful shows. However, mentalism is not boring if done well as Alberto mentioned. At the end of the day, it is about the spectators and having an engaging performance style. Being a serious mentalist is not going to necessarily entertain an audience if there are large gaps of silence while going through the procedures of a routine. Moments of comedy gives the audience another release point of that pent up energy.
