This illusion blows away anyone who sees it. The realistic look of the metal binding and the inner
pages is what kicks magical booteh on the now gasping and shocked crowd. I've performed it to said
crowds and can attest to the amazement level of this illusion, even my sharp-eyed test subjects are
all stunned, when and after they see it. They have no idea still. One asked, looking at me in
disbelief, "Where did the metal rings go?!?" I was wearing a tank top when I did it and was standing
in front of him (there's nothing to ditch). I just shrugged my shoulders like I didn't know either,
which he then gave me the look of "You turd!".
The gimmick, which I've somewhat hinted to
already, is extremely well crafted and manufactured. There's no way you can make one at this quality
and precision and it's well worth the price and get this one ready-to-go. The gimmick creates the
perfect optical illusion of a metal-binded notepad, and in an instant becomes a deck of playing
cards which you can proceed however you want with. The original handling of Gary Jones (which he
also teaches in the dvd) is my personally chosen handling. I walk to the table with my Sharpie in
one hand, a notepad in the other, both posed ready to write something. I say, "O.K., what would you
like?", acting in body language as that of a waiter. The looks they give me are awesome, all
different. I say, "Oh, you've already ordered your food?" as I point to a menu with my Sharpie and
rotate my hand with the notepad downward. When I turn it back up it is now the deck! I hold that
hand still and allow the spectators to focus their various attentions back at it. Most are usually
looking elsewhere, at my face and saying "Yes we have", or looking at one other like, "Who's this
guy". When they start getting a magical rush I say, "O.K. then how about a card trick" and I proceed
to do just that. The notepad's amazing vanish happens during an off note time (people aren't looking
at you as a magician yet so they're not expecting magic) and the card trick is what your final focus
is on. It's something they talk about after you've left.
