Magic Tricks

You can't help but like this effect because it is easy to do and can get some fun reactions. On the other hand, and the reason I gave it 4 stars, it is a trick suited for special occasions. I'm "old school" believing that magicians want a positive, uplifting reaction and closing rather than scaring the h--- out of their spectators and possible future clients.

Responses, of course will be mixed depending on the character and maturity of the spectator(s), but for some young children, this trick can startle them to the point of crying, thus, making them afraid of your magic. To my thinking, this is the major downside of scary magic.

This is the sort of trick than can cause laughter, but it can also cause feelings of embarrassment by startling certain spectators at inappropriate times. Here's a clue, and take this to the bank from my personal experience -- MOST WOMEN DO NOT LIKE SNAKES. So, if you're trying to score points with a certain female or group of females, I highly recommend caution. For the sake of our magical heritage and reputations, I am very careful not to offend my audiences as I believe most professional magicians will agree.

The effect is ingenious and the reset takes seconds, if that long. Snake Eyes is not an effect you would want to repeat to the same audience -- not that we ever do that sort of thing. (Tic)

It's a trick I think, that deserves being in the bag for those special occasions and "certain" audiences. The effect can be a panic -- literally. You just have to be a good judge of character and circumstance -- and think about how you, and the rest of us, want to be remembered.
