...I received my What Tha a few days ago...and have spent a few hours workshopping the effect. I
have to say I find 'it' to be very interesting.
The gimmick is well made...and could last for
years. Take care of it...probably will outlast you.
The method is easy to earn....Mr. Lovins
teaches it thoroughly...and I feel the 'moves' can be nailed down by relative beginners within an
hour. That leaves it up to the performer to make the effect 'live'.
I am not a beginner
though.
Without revealing the actual method....there is 'more' to this than meets the eye. TT,
coin and t****le skills can be applied to the 'it' and the 'critter' can come and go in even more
ways than you might, at first; imagine.
The reactions I got from using the effect as
purchased (9xs
so far) were strong...and the 3 men who saw 'it' ALL said
"What tha #%*@ is
that"?
Then...I opened my hand and the 'it' was gone.
The 6 women who saw 'it' backed away
and laughed.
(All 9 saw it in one on one performance...prefaced with "Did you ever see one of
these"?...kind of in conversation...people who did not know I am a magician.
Just
'workshopping' 'it'.)
ALL 9 thought 'it' was alive.
Roger, it's been 50 years
since I learned a French drop. Been around for a while.
This 'it' is actually a lot of fun to
work with.
The 'critter' will be in my pocket, a lot...waiting for the proper time to come and
go.
Thanks.
Thanks Robert for all the kind words!
I have worked on this effect for 3 years, making minor adjustments and so forth. I am very proud of the final product! These are only offered in limited quantity! So everyone enjoy them while they last!!! I feel this could be the best street effect in magic if performed correctly! It is just hard to explain the reactions from the people that experience it first hand!!!
Rodger Lovins
rdlovins - I have been having a 'ton of fun' with the critter in just the few days since my review. I cant really go into too many details w/out tipping the method but, I have taken out my wallet to 'put this thing' into the bill area (cleaning up) and very cleanly show there is nothing in my holding hand anymore. I have stopped a conversation with "Hold still...don't move"...and plucked the critter off a persons shoulder. Let them see it briefly...asked "Do you know what this is?"
After being told 'No' by a slightly scared and very befuddled girl - I replied "Neither do I! Probably nothing...nothing at all" And showing the holding hand empty.
She was silent for almost 50 seconds...the rest of the short conversation was pretty funny! Pulled out her phone to recount it to her friend right there. (Now, she has a story she will tell for a long time to come)
Simple effect....well made 'critter'...can fit into many situations.
If I have not been clearly explaining myself...best purchase (and the most fun) I have made in a long time.
(Come to think of it - I will buy another while still available.
Im curious if this effect is similar to baby arm and if so do the instructions come with tips on ending as cleanly as the video appears to be? I also see a lot of reviews but only a pre-order button? If these are hand made which is why there are only limited quantity of them how durable are they?
