I was privileged enough to be in a lecture audience where Chad taught this trick. It looked every
bit as amazing as it does in the video. I saw Chad do this in person more times than I can count and
even knowing how its done, I am still floored by how cool it looks. It is really easy to do, but it
does take practice and dexterity to pull it off with the convincers Chad does. This should be in
every card handler's arsenal.
I am very much a novice. Would you recommend this for a rank amateur like me?
Nope, not for a novice. You need to be a higher level amateur to a professional card magician.
I know some card manipulation but I still have trouble executing it properly. Would this be too difficult? Is it safe to assume that this trick would be impractical to perform in your act seeing that you need a door?
You don't need a door in general. You can use a wall, or basically any solid object that is bigger than a card. And for this, I recommend people with larger hands. This trick will take some practice, as everything, but this one might take a bit more time from your day. To decide if you're ready to do this try learning a "card production" which is found on penguin or you could learn it on youtube. If that is easy for you, give this a go.
