One of the nice things of being an All Access Pass subscriber is the opportunity to be exposed to
magicians and mentalists you might not otherwise pursue. Such was the case with Peter Studebaker.
I had not known of Peter, but because I had signed up for the pass in order to see Atlas
Brookings, Looch and Luke Jermay, I had the chance to see Peter, too.
Peter is a very
entertaining and very funny performer. If you want knuckle-busting magic, this is not the lecture
for you. If you want to learn how to connect better with your audience, have fun with them and
perform some commercial close-up material, then give this lecture a shot.
I am using a
couple of his effects in an upcoming close-up gig I have in August. The first one will be turning
lotto slips into cash and then taking one of the dollar bills and turning it into foreign currency,
Swiss currency to be exact.
His torn and restored cigarette paper is beautiful, along with
his setup. I performed this effect years ago with Wiztax, and I was wondering how he got rid of the
extra piece. I was completely stunned by this.
He has card stunts/finesses; gags; tips on
sales; what to do when a client is trying to get you to lower your price; and so much more.
I had no clue what to expect, and I was pleasantly surprised, much like the Howard Hamburg
lecture.
