A magnet about the size of a dime is glued inside a standard shell and, oddly, there is no mated
regular coin. The thickness of the magnet holds the shell away from your St. Gaudens coin by about
half a coin's thickness ... causing a reveal that is too big to pass muster by even a visually
impaired spectator. Also, the presence of the magnet causes the shell to tip from side to side as
it sits on the normal coin, making a lot of noise and certainly disallowing anything remotely like
casual handling. The shell appears well made but I strongly urge buying a non-magnetic version
which should cover your normal St. Gaudens coins with only a very small reveal.
