Did you like The Hawk? Yes? Then get this. No? Then don't get this.
1) Do away with the
decorative, ornate box, and use the money you save to pay someone to put these things together for
your customers rather than forcing them to do it themselves.
2) The concept is novel, but
it's not "there" yet. The provided routines are extremely weak, and require things like, "so I put
it in my pocket, and took it out later" for a switch. Weak sauce.
3) The sleights involved
in this effect become the trick, moreso than the gimmick itself. Because of how "dirty" the gimmick
is, after the restore, you can't spend any time basking in the fact that you just instantly restored
a card, lest someone see the construction. In order to preserve the secret, you have to move past
the effect entirely too quickly.
4) The idea of coming up with a reason to "also need to
take out the creases" in a T&R effect isn't new, but it is still just as weak as it always has been.
You can either restore a card, or you can't. Never being able to show the face of the card, or
confirm for the spectator that the card you're restoring is even theirs in any way, just makes no
sense.
If I knew then, what I know now ... I'd save my money and continue to practice a
sleight heavy T&R.
