I won't comment on the magic. As a performance, I found it rather painful to watch. Mr. Redford
seemed very nervous. He flubbed one effect entirely early on which clearly rattled him, struggled
with some others, forgot critical components of explanations, constantly "stepped on the dramatic
moments" (in his words), gave foreshadowing introductions which (as he then pointed out himself)
couldn't possibly make sense to someone who didn't know what was coming, regularly mentioned how
he'd had no sleep, cursed (parents who care about that kind of thing will care), made attempts at
humor which (judging by the audience's silence) nearly always fell flat (though Dan Harlan tried his
best to laugh supportively). One might have been entertained by the magic, but I certainly wasn't by
the magician. I expect this was an anomaly and I felt badly for Mr. Redford.
