It's fairly obvious what the gimmick is, but I ordered it anyway as an impulse buy. While I'm happy
to support Penguin and a fellow magician, I must say that this gimmick will only work in a dimly-lit
environment with children or people slightly inebriated.
First off, my gimmick arrived
bent (international shipping--what can you do), but there are instructions on how to make a new one,
so I did. I performed this for three non-magician groups, and all three figured out the gimmick
immediately.
Rather than throw this in the magic drawer of useless gimmicks, I will most
likely use this only when entertaining children, and even then I am limited its use to the coin
trick.
If you work in a bar or restaurant, I recommend this; otherwise, there are more
creative ways to do these effects.
"Figured out your trick" That's obvious that they are the type of people that be like oh so he jumped over the building(no reaction), he must of had special shoes. Somebody who just wants to see some magic for what it is (entertainment purposes) doesn't want to figure it out. If not, then they are border line hecklers. Unless, you are doing your weakest trick or like you said, for your friend magicians and also their own self confidence and how they feel towards you makes a big difference.
