When I ordered this I was expecting the method to be the typical counter-weight principle, like the
magic wand that came in magic kits when I was a kid. Surprisingly that's not the case with Penhenge
Sharpie. The method isn't counterweight at all. This prevents me from being able to use just any
flat surface and limits how I can present it, but that's O.K. After messing with it I've grown quite
fond of its unique little secret. The Sharpie is a normal, fully usable marker but inside its body
are some devious sneaky inner workings. Any weight difference from any other Sharpie is
unnoticeable. It feels and acts like a regular marker but can present a remarkable suspension
illusion at a moments notice. Afterward it can be handed out for full inspection. It's
self-contained and impossible to figure out.
The first thing I noticed when I opened the box
and looked inside was a block (just barely smaller than a card box) with 3 holes drilled into it. It
baffled me to its purpose until I read the instructions that came with the trick. Now that I've
learned the methodology I feel this gimmick is brilliant. It fits in your pocket and holds the
Sharpie when not in use. The other two holes are for additional Sharpies. When the Penhenge Sharpie
is placed into the holder then removed, it is reset for another performance. It's brilliantly simple
and simply brilliant.
All in all it's a great product and well produced in Joker Magic's
respected fashion.
