These are fantastic shells! Painted and sealed with what I take to be an acrylic sealer. Slightly tacky in areas, I powdered mine with a slight bit of baby powder to suit my taste in handling. The peas are superb. Overall handling is a breeze. If you do the three shell game, you get one extra in case one breaks or chips (I don't see that happening under normal use.) VERY affordable for the quality.
