First of all, what you're buying is the gimmick. There is virtually no teaching on this DVD. It is
also very old, with no updates. That's okay, just poor video quality. Wayne Dobson's performance is
very entertaining. He does the trick with six cards, not four, which you're probably not going to be
able to duplicate unless you have a very controlled environment. There is a four-card demonstration
by Matthew Dowden, and this is the version you will likely use. Indeed, the gimmick only works with
four cards.
The big disappointment with this DVD is Matthew Dowden's explanation. He
actually doesn't explain anything. Doesn't demonstrate, doesn't teach any of the moves. He just says
stuff like, "Use your favorite technique," rather than showing you a technique and teaching you how
to do it. Which is fine if you already know these moves, as many folks will. But someone hoping to
learn the moves to do this trick won't find any help, at all, on this DVD.
The trick itself
is fun, but getting big reactions when revealing multiple cards is completely dependent upon a
presentation that uses a variety of moves to prevent it from being repetitive. By itself, it's not
a super entertaining trick. What makes it big is the presentation and using different reveals for
the first three cards, none of which are taught on the DVD.
Frankly, you don't need the DVD
at all, just the gimmick. So save some dough and just buy the gimmick.
