I don't usually like smaller cups and balls sets, but this one is a keeper for me. The red balls and
white balls definitely pop against the black cups (and if you use a dark close-up mat, you are
really going to like the difference). The cups are a little on the fragile side in that they do show
scuffs when hit together too much though.
Finding a final load is a little tricky but if
you go to a pet shop and find the smaller tennis balls for tiny dogs, they fit perfectly in the cups
and produce a nice visual ending. The cups are too small for standard tennis balls and a bit too
large for a golf ball. You can actually fit a standard pool ball in them perfectly and it fills the
space, but they'll make a lot of noise in the loading process. Handballs work as well.
The
other drawback is obviously the way they will look against your clothing. If you wear dark clothes
it will be easy for the cups to get lost against you. If you work in the dim lighting of a
restaurant or bar, they won't stand out like copper or chrome cups would. On the other hand, if
you're looking for a small set to practice with or use in well-lit situations, this is a great
choice for the price.
