Wow
How disappointing. ; the video stop to many times / finally got frustrated and decided not to start it again. Perhaps my new iPad Pro was not compatible format? Penguin because of the great service over the past years gets a pass on this . Still feels like I got kicked in the Shin.

Grant, I too have difficulty watching this format of instant download on my iPad.
Your guess about the iPad is correct in that it will not play DVR protected videos.
You can view the download on a laptop or desk computer (public library).
Hope this helps.
