I own a lot of Penguin lectures and saw this one by John live in person.
1)This is filled
with real workers.
2)Almost everything John teaches here is very practical.
3)Magic is performed by too many technicians (people that know how to technically perform the
trick) but don't understand or know how to be entertaining or how to be a showman. John does, and
watching this lecture you'll see/learn the difference between being simply a technician and someone
that can truly entertain and command attention.
4)Too often magicians focus on the trick
itself (the wow factor) and neglect routine (the entertaining and engaging factor). It's the
routine that makes a 1 minute trick into a 4-5 minute performance that captivates an
audience/spectator and makes it entertaining and memorable...the trick just gives it the wow. John
is a master. John demonstrates a consistent ability to do the wow, but perhaps more importantly,
the entertaining routine that makes it a performance. Watch how he does it here, take inspiration
from it, and catapult your magic to the next level !
5)It's a very enjoyable lecture and
fun show just to watch!
