PROS: The trick is startlingly good-- and an easy, engaging way into a longer rope routine of your
own. It doesn't take too much skill, and it doesn't waste a lot of rope. If you like the preview, I
say buy it. But...
CONS: While the DVD shows the creator/teacher to be clever and
apparently very nice, it is not professionally shot (not even very intelligently, with bright
backlighting that sometimes makes it hard to see well). And way, way too much time is spent being
chatty and cute and by-the-way rather than being sufficiently clear on the few, somewhat cramped and
unclear "moves." (You get what feels like 20 minutes on how to make a pocket protector for the
gimmick and scissors, but only about 10 seconds on the important penultimate move (squaring the
loops, for those in the know) and 5 seconds on the setup for the impromptu version.) You can get
it, but it takes a lot longer than it would have with clear, concise teaching.
BOTTOM LINE:
As said above, buy it if you like the preview, which you should, and have other rope stuff in your
act. My emphasis on the CONS arises from frustration
of clumsy teaching that should have made
this very nice trick much easier to master.
