The trick is great. Anything that puts the magic into the spectator's hands and allows them to feel
the magic happening is a wonderful moment in magic. There is, however, an angle problem with this
trick that is remedied in a way that is unjustified and looks bizarre. I suppose an argument can be
made that this can be used as a red herring and allow you to clean up but I don't feel that
justifies the action.
What I am mainly disappointed with though is how this trick is
advertised. "Gimmickless"? "Zero-preparation"? I don't think so. Considering that there is a moment
where you need to set something up to be able to perform it and then this becomes your gimmick for
whenever you need to do the trick again. If you use your own deck then it is just a matter of
slipping this in when you're ready. If you're borrowing your friend's deck or spectators you better
get rid of it or you'll have some explaining to do later.
The price is good, and I suppose
that I have something in reserve if I am ever in a position to do the haunted deck without the aid
of my regular gimmicks. I just dislike how this was advertised and I do feel lied to.
