Being a hobbyist more than a performer I have to say I love gimmicked tricks. This trick uses a
gimmick as you know. The gimmick in this trick is made well enough but in a real world situation im
not exactly confident flashing it around. You definitely cannot let the spectator touch the card
that comes out of the box either.
There is also a bit of a knack to working the gimmick
properly as to make its function undetectable. It can get stuck if too much pressure is put on the
box.
The video instruction download that comes with the trick is brief and covers the
essentials on how to work the gimmick and do the tiny bit of arts and crafts you may want to do, in
my opinion the little bit of extra arts and crafts are not necessary.
The trick is simple
and clear which is what makes it nice but dude didn't really offer any patter ideas to justify
putting the cards back in the box etc etc so you will have to think of something on your own, which
is probably better anyway.
Also this is just a personal thing for me. I can appreciate a
French accent but this guys voice is obnoxious and frankly he is not great at doing tutorials. He
seams more interested in stroking his own ego about how great is gimmick is than creating a fully
fleshed out routine.
Considering what this costs a lot more should be provided, possibly
other uses for the gimmick.
The good thing about this is the effect itself if executed
smoothly and presented properly it looks totally impossible.
Since its essentially a
clever gimmicked way of forcing a card, the prediction revelation can be done in any number of ways.
Which leaves plenty of room for creativity.
If you ditch the gimmicks the cards and box
will be totally clean and could be used for other effects which is also nice.
So in
closing, the effect is a fooler. Deck can be used for other tricks. The gimmick is nothing
revolutionary. Not a lot of info is included, just the basics of the trick. The value doesn't seam
to be there in my opinion. I feel like a similar looking trick would be better executed with a
gimmicked box perhaps so the card that comes out is clean. 3.5 out of 10
