This is just eh. The idea is nice but not original and other methods using the same gimmick material are better.

This is the same idea and gimmick material used in the Rasmus Haunted deck which also works for a rising card from box.

The pitch on this one is you can begin and end clean, which is not true in my opinion. If the spectator looks at the box after they will probably notice the gimmick and possibly even before.

Also it is stated that you can use a borrowed deck for this. Is this true? Yes but I guarantee you probably never will. It would be more complicated than it's worth.

Now the Rasmus Haunted deck gimmick is rigged up to one card in a deck to make the effect work. This trick, the gimmick is attached to the box. So this means you have to put the deck into the box, then insert the spectators card into the box after. Therefore it is just a card rise, not a card revelation via a rise. To me it seams a little weird to put the single card which you already no the value of into the box to just have it rise back out.

The gimmick for RISEN can't be taken away during the performance to assure ending clean. So, you take the risk whether they will see it or not. I'm not huge on handing things out for spectators to examine but with this it almost feel's like you will have to.

With Rasmus's Haunted deck they can look at the box all day because nothing is there. The way these type of tricks work they really don't have a reasons to look in the deck itself and the deck is in the box at the end anyway but the gimmick is easy to palm off if you prefer to do so.

The other problem I ran into with RISEN is the gimmick actually damaged the box which happened after only testing the trick out a few times. This made the gimmick less effective and the only way to fix it is to use a different box.

All and all I think they were a little deceptive in the marketing of this and I don't think It was worth the money at all. One of the first trick's I have considered getting a refund for. I like the dude who came up with this so it's a little bit more disappointing that this is really not that good.

Can the card be eaten by the spectator?
