I'd never heard of Sam Wooding before so I was initially skeptical having been burned on ebooks by
unknown so-called mentalists--and hearing Paul Brook's voice in my head about the evils of propless
mentalism. (This is a reference to his Ask Paul podcast episode about the subject. If you are a
serious mentalist, you owe it to yourself to listen to Paul. Even if you don't agree with him, his
thoughts are brilliant.) I opened the PDF fully expecting to have wasted my money.
But
boy was I surprised. There is so much great, usable stuff here. And all of the propless material
is of the quick-hit variety. There is not a long-winded procedure or pumping event in sight. (Paul
might even approve.) I especially like The Mirror (I have my box of tic-tacs right here next to me),
Human, Vale (I had never seen this psychological force before, and it's fascinating), and Tight
Smile.
Of course, this material is not for everyone, especially beginners or someone who
wants surefire methods. But I was pleasantly surprised, indeed VERY pleasantly surprised, by how
many creative ideas are in this little ebook. (I do have one complaint, though: poor proofreading.
I understood the material, but the random capitalization and poor punctuation was a distraction.)
You'll know if it suits your style, but if it does, I know that you'll be using and thinking about
these methods. Bravo!
