Dark Arts by Matt Mello is a wonderful mentalist's utility. Little wonder that it's a Penguin best seller because it's so simple to construct, yet deviously ingenious. For the past couple of years, I've carried a few Dark Arts envelopes with me so that I can do an impromptu drawing duplication. I love Dark Arts.

Now comes Matt Johnson's variation, After Dark. Is it worth the upgrade? My gosh yes! Matt has taken the Dark Arts envelope to the next level. Now you can actually show the outside and inside of the envelope. (I can hear the great envelope-ologist Scott Creasey applauding with approval.) And you get four different templates to make the gimmick which are cool. This is a terrific modification that you will use if you do any kind of walk-around or impromptu mentalism. No exaggerated hype or hyperbole here: This is great.
