I was really excited about this. I came up with all kinds of uses for it and then... I decided which
tie to use it with, set it up and, well... You really only have the following two choices:
1)
Barely any movement from the tie but your tie will look normal
2) You kind of movement you'd
expect, but all the time even when you aren't trying to perform it. Just walking around the house
going about my business my tie kept dancing up and down. There is no way I could ever wear this in
that position outside the house.
I tried every length possible but it's impossible to find
a happy medium that your tie will look normal but come up only when you want it to.
I very
much appreciate how the tie is supposed to go up and down based on invisible natural motion but it
doesn't help if that's a motion you naturally do several times a minute.
I am still
experimenting to see if I can hook it somewhere else but the hook-up Andy recommends can not be used
if you want the tie to ever look normal. Even in Andy's explanation video his tie keeps acting funny
when he isn't trying to make it rise.
I have this gimmick and use it weekly. After much trial and error, I discovered that pining it to a looser part of your pants’ material (eg back of button on fly) gives it just that little bit of ‘give’ so as it appears natural when not in use. Trust me that this just needs some play at home to find your sweet spot. Also, clamp the top near the gimmick so the string doesn’t come down on you. Good luck!
