I surely appreciate the Antique back designs here, complete with Hobgoblins. With the colors, this
just looked like a good Halloween style deck. Cards handle fine as Bicycles do. They produce
interesting fans, depending on which side you start from. Faces are standard design with same
palette as backs. Now, the Jokers...are devils. Unfortunately, not as well drafted as the card
backs-something of a stylistic discrepency. The corner indices on the Jokers were hand drawn, and
not very well in my opinion. The Ace of Spades has the word 'FIRE' on it's bottom, but in a type
face more contemporary than the back designs-another stylistic contradiction. The card backs are
worth looking at-but do not have white borders-something which can work to betray certain basic
moves such as the double lift. While the backs are two way design, HOW they are colored actually
makes them one way, a plus for certain effects. Overall, te deck looks cheap-and I attribute this to
the brightness of the colors, and lack of white borders. I think the premise was good here, but not
by any means as classy or consistent as other decks I've seen. It's fun, but the back designs I
think deserved a better overall deck design.
