I have no one to blame but myself for impulsively buying this trick before it had any reviews. I
have learned my lesson.
Production values are sub par. You are not even buying a video per
se, but a couple of links to private YouTube clips. The quality of the sound is mediocre. There
are two clips because (no lie) the camera falls over at the end of the first clip, and Royle was too
lazy to re-shoot it again, Clip two picks up where the first one left off. Sloppy and amateur.
The description of the trick is also misleading. The demo does not show the complete trick
(which is what compelled me to buy it). There is a good bit of business that takes place with your
participants prior to what you see on the demo. You never get to see you see him do the entire
routine with a participant---so you have no idea how effective or convincing the whole routine would
be. You have to take his word for it.
Finally, I dispute the claim that no complicated
slight of hand is needed. While the moves are probably not Ricky Jay caliber, there are some things
that require a good bit of practice and really aren't worth the pay-off
I am still a big
fan of Boris Wild's Any Card at Any Birthday as a clean, natural and extremely clever technique to
accomplish the same effect.
