The short review :
It has been three years since I have started a career as a magician. This
effect has gone with me in the past two years and man, It is THE effect I perform the most. I do it
close up, stand up, for kids, teens, adults, elderly people and even mirrors! (We do need to
practice after all... And I just love watching some of the slick moves myself to see what my
audience sees!) I highly recommend this DVD if you care to spend the energy (many hours of practice
and hundreds of hours of performance) to master this great effect which goes beyond the professor's
nightmare. I have seen Tabary, David Stone's work, they are both great and I do include several of
their thinkings in my work. But this is THE dvd that gave me all the tools I needed to really go out
there and do it.

I do it for kids : with nice bits of business
added in of course!
I do it for teens : and they love it, real eye candy and magic.
I do it for adults : they gasp, are amazed, surprised, shocked!
With all that there is
on this DVD, you have enough effects to JAZZ with the ropes. The variety of the routines you can
perform with the ropes can vary in time-span, just as the ropes do! That's the magic of this DVD
project : it explains in great detail, with humor and kindheartedness. Three great traits of this
great performer, teacher and thinker of magic : Richard Sanders.
Must I specify that this
goes way beyond the professor's nightmare? You will learn and be able to perform (with some effort
involved in some types of effects which do require quite a lot of practice... such as the visual
travelling ends).
Choose your rope wisely, choose the appearance of your ends : clean cut?
taped? tied up? tucked-in?...
Tucked in ends tend to make people suspicious and some people
think there are magnets in the ends... (of course, make the ropes examined in that case, but choose
your moment for that or that will break your rhythm)
There is little reason why you would
not want the EXTENDED compared to the original. If you do already own the original, there are
several interesting moves that add-on to the original theory. I personally always add the bit of the
ends being put back on the rope by putting them in the mouth in shows for children, makes em laugh
and that just suits my style.

I've been a Penguin customer for many years now, but my review of of this product seemed to have
disappeared. This makes me very nervous about trusting reviews from this company if they just take
away the bad ones. Leaving another review here.
I was excited to see this project being
released - But I didn't realize it was just a re-release. Exact same OLD video footage from the
release Richard did 10-12 years ago. The only thing that was different was the cover has a slight
update, the DVD also came with online videos (which are the same videos as the DVD) & the trailer
was updated. The trailer quality is great & up to date with the quality that is expected from videos
now. This trailer made me think that this was a NEW updated video instructions. It is not. The
quality is far from what you see on the trailer.
The content is good, but don't be fooled
into thinking this is new. Just a lazy re-release. Very disappointed. Luckily Penguin did refund me
in full since I already owned the original. Hope this review stays so we can trust the review system
with honest reviews.

This is amazing. It is perfect for walk around, resets instantly and provides you with a solid
routine full of magic. The 3 rope routine doesn't offer much over the 1 rope routine, so that is the
one that I prefer. I also like ring and rope routines, so the added ability to turn the 1 rope
routine into a ring and rope routine is cool. The routine is sectional so you can drop or add phases
as you see fit with no problem. That is kind of nice because the routine Richard Sanders shows has
repetitive points. All in all though this is solid magic that is easy to perform.

WOW!!! Is the
reaction I get each and every time I perform this gem. I've performed it on the street, in clubs,
all my paid gigs. It never fails to astound. I will never perform the professor's nightmare again!
Richards teaching on this is unbelievably thorough. With special attention to performance and
nuances of presentation. Plus this dvd has more moves than ex-lax. With such a vast resource of
moves you're able to pick and choose the ones that compliment your style and personality.
Hypering!!... is well...uhhh....off da rope? This is more than just another rope effect! This is an
exciting magical journey for us to share with our audience!.... Buy...and see the reactions for
yourself.

So, is Fiber Optics worth all the hype? The answer: no.
It’s worth far, far more.
All
of these effects are absolutely fantastic. I can positively confirm everything that all of these
other reviewers have stated:
*Everything packs small and plays big
*It instantly resets for
repeat performances
*With a little work, it’s virtually angle-proof
*The instructions are
clear, well presented, and shown from multiple angles when necessary to ensure you understand the
moves. (Out of all the amazing moves shown, there is really only one I don’t quite understand how to
do it as cool as he does.)
*Since everything is built in phases, and since these phases start
and end in one of a few standard positions, you can easily mix and match to make the performance fit
your style and your desired time frame.
*The whole thing is straight up eye candy. This isn’t
magic that happens in your spectators hands (though your closing can); this is beautiful, rapid fire
magic that will make your audience oooh and aaah over and over again.
*There are no real
gimmicks. The rope is real and examinable at different points in your routine.
*Finally, if you
haven’t bought this yet, but you want to learn rope magic as a beginner or a pro, then you need to
get this in your next order. It’s that good. And many of us here have paid a lot more to get a lot
less.
Next to my sponge magic, this artwork of rope magic has become my favorite thing to
perform. Everywhere I go now, I have rope and a ring in my pocket—always ready to perform my own
version of his Hyper Ring routine. If you were thinking about separately buying a cut and restore
rope trick, forget it; you won’t need it once you have this (and you can use the same rope over and
over again). Not only that, but you also won’t need a separate Professor’s Nightmare video because
he covers not only the standard version but also a really cool variation that I haven’t seen
anywhere else. If I had to choose one rope effect/set of effects, this would have to be it. Period.

A fantastic DVD. JUST GET IT IF U WANT MORE SHOWS. This is one of the f/x or routines that get
talked about for a long time. I have always had great reactions from Richard Sanders magic. He
always give a lot for the money and the dvd instructions are ALWAYS well done, detailed, and
lengthy.
I always have rope 2 perform at a moments notice. Great for stage, close-up, and
outside events. I have gotten several shows after performing my rope routine. I will admit and only
use some of his routine, some or Daryl's variations, Sands, and several of my own because I want 2
have part of me in this masterpiece routine. A true working professional values the IMPACT that
magic that is ORGANIC is closer 2 real magic. 5 STAR Routine.

I have been doing the three rope routine for over 30 years and pretty much followed Slydini's
presentation. Richard Sanders provides numerous techniques to expand the routine, and he is an
excellent teacher. If you don't already do the three rope routine, this DVD is an excellent way to
learn all the moves. If you already do the three rope routine, you may not find enough additional
material to justify the price. Unfortunately, that is how I felt. After going through the entire
DVD, I think it is over priced for what you are getting.

I wanted to learn some rope routines and boy did I pick the right dvd. The routines on this dvd
really are jaw dropping. Richard really cares about teaching you the routines and you can tell. He
goes over some of the moves 5-6 times with different angles to make sure you understand what is
happening. If your new to rope magic this is a great dvd to get beacause a lot of the moves are
easy. If you are a pro at rope magic this is a great dvd to get because so many of the moves are
modular and could fit into rope routines you already do. This dvd is an investment....add to cart
now!

If you are new to rope magic, then this DVD is for you. The routine is absolutely phenomenal. You
learn things such as equal/unequal ropes, moving knot, and the most impressive cut and restored
rope. The way that it's taught is very good, and easy to understand. The moves are very natural.
Just watch the video and if you're blown away, just think how the spectators will react. Add to Cart

Get this dvd! A rope trick is a must have in a show, or even as a close up trick, en this dvd shows
you how to do very visual rope magic! Anouther good part is that you don't waste rope like you do in
cut and restored, but you can use the same ropes over and over. The ring on rope routine is really
great to:)
