ok guys...I would like to subbmit a full review right here, because i remember when I first ordered
Torn I was unsure...so here goes:
pros:
card can be inspected before and after
card
can be signed
when performed correctly, looks KILLER
there is a recap session
Danny
teaches the advanced handling
cons:
angles
its hard to cover the dirty bits (trust
me)
there is a setup (but a really tiny one)
Danny isnt a very good teacher, I found he went
too fast and didnt really explain the handling and the grips
oh and a card is torn.....cant
say anymore you will know what I'm talking about
overall:
If you are a begginer in
magic...bad idea don't get it...it relies on sleight of hand only.
if you are an advanced
magician and are willing to put the time & practise in, it's a good buy. It's quite practical but
the angles and your folds could givve it away completely...I will say no more. Peace out

i own several different versions of torn and restored card effects. hands down this is the best one
for the following reasons.
1)super practicle. the setup takes about 15 seconds, and uses no
gimmicks.
2) can be used with a signed card
3) not that hard but does need practice
4)
direct with sticky stuff and can be handed out immediately after the effect is over.
CONS.
1: does use set up but really not that big of a deal
2: dont end totally clean but the
misdirection is so strong at the end that it doesent matter
3: not real magic. oh well
just get it. you wont be sorry

I did this trick to a bunch of my friends on the bus and it left every one of them staring at the
card. Torn is the greatest trick I have bought at Penguin.

I really don't know why all the reviews say good things about this trick. That's why i bought, but
the truth is this trick sucks. Haven't you asked yourself why the promo video is in such bad
quality? There's a reason for it. This effect can be done from a distance. It's also good if you're
just making a video, but that's all. I showed it to people and every time i did it was obivous what
was going on. They gotta be back little it's not meant for up close. Also if you have this effect
watch the promo video again and watch him flash. And he used this video to try and sell this? Save
your money.

Great DVD. It's not for beginners, but once you have trained and trained and trained, this card
trick has a very good effect and gets your audience baffled.
This is a must on every card trick
magician.

I absolutely love this effect but you have to remember that it is a somewhat dificult effect to
perform and the angles are not that big so you have to be aware at all times where you are. Other
than that the effect really hits hard and has some great moments in it.

The only thing I have against this T + R is that it isn't angle-proof. And for bigger audiences, I
would personally do another T+R, but this still is a wonderful trick, well thought out, and
practically almost impromptu.

I love this restore because it's so visual, and if you don't have any major hecklers, it's really
easy to cover. If you get a big heckler it makes this effect hard because it's so slow and
deliberate, which is what gives it so much power. A lot of fun and due to it being so visual, EVERY
spectator is ALWAYS blown away. DEFINITELY worth the money. Another one to always be ready to
perform. Another keeper!

This is my second T&R card trick. I bought Torched & Restored last year which is also an excellent
effect but takes a LOT of set up (one time only for a pack of cards) and Torched is not impromptu.
TORN is impromptu and is brilliant because each piece is restored one at a time right in front of
the spectator's eyes and the card can be signed first!
My only comment is that it is VERY
angle sensitive and requires (and deserves) a lot of practice. I once saw Guy Hollingworth do his
T&R - which was phenomenal - at a Convention and I was sideways on, just a few feet away and I still
couldn't see how he did it. There's no way That I can see that you'd be able to have a spectator
view this trick other than being right head-on in front of you - no sideways angle or the trick will
be exposed.
That said, this is a trick I will definitely use and I think it is as close to
visual magic as you're gonna get with a pack of cards!

This is by far the best T&R out there that I've come across.
Pros:
Great restorations
Excellent teachings
Do not need a force
can be signed
immediate examination
setup is minimal! takes less than a minute
cons:
practice practice practice!
angles can be tricky, but not bad at all.
For the people I've shown this to, this has
gotta be the most convincing and most impressive T&R that I've learnt.
HIGHLY recommended!!
