Five different cards are displayed face up. A spectator MENTALLY selects one of the cards. The magician turns the five cards towards himself, and without any questions or "pumping", removes one card, and places it in his pocket claiming that it is the mentally selected card. When the spectator names their card, the magician removes that card from his pocket and shows that the remaining four cards are all different from what the spectator saw originally. All five cards can be examined!
