Was really looking forward to this penguin live lecture act and it was inspirational to watch!
If you do or are thinking of incorporating a Rubik cube trick in your act you need to learn from
the best!
There are many new names and performers who now do and sell tricks and effects
using Rubik cubes, but this is the original creator who has inspired the growth in cube magic.
Great vanishing and reappearance of a signed cube in nest of boxes to finish the act on a killer
closing effect.
Don’t forget the card work as well, great work on Woody Aragon’s trick
using only three cards instead of four. This even impressed Dan Harlan, easy for the audience to
follow.
This gets my highest recommendation, be inspired and fooled at the same time.

This is really a great lecture if you are into rubiks magic.
Takamiz has some really great and
surprising effects with the cube.
His variation of the shuffle board is also nice.
Highly
recommended.

The lecture was great with a performance that was top notch. The visual nature of his performance
definitely leads to an impressed audience. The reactions were great. The explanation section of the
video had a translator so that Mr. Usui could properly focus on the explanation and not word choice.
I highly recommend this lecture to anyone interested in cube magic. Though his card magic, including
the three envelope prediction, is also very impressive.
Highlights:
Great one hand
solution
Humor with cubes
Good card force
Prediction is not only a suit and number but
also the color of envelopes.
The nesting box trick with the signed cube is a great closure.
Con:
One effect has a great gimmick that is difficult to find by itself.
The
above-mentioned gimmick can be made cheaply but would fail in a close-up performance as he mentions
so the pro-quality would be better. Maybe in the future, he can sell just gimmicks.

English translation from Google:
If you are interested in magic with the Rubik’s cube, this
is a video that you absolutely must see. As usual, in the “Live Act” series of Penguin Magic, in the
first part of the video there is his performance, and in the second part the explanation of the
effects performed and the techniques used.
The performance is really noteworthy, Takamiz
Usui alternates spectacular effects with the cubes with card magic effects, always involving one or
more spectators in a fun and polite way. It is also striking the grace with which the performer
approaches the public, mirror of an oriental culture completely different from ours.
The
explanation of the effects is entrusted to the Japanese magician, assisted by a translator and by
the patron of the Penguin, the American magician Dan Harlan.
Dan Harlan immediately takes
care to point out that the resolution of the cube with one hand and four moves, at the base of
almost all the effects of this type, was invented by Takamiz Usui, and published in the DVD entitled
“The Cube” in 2013. This clarification is due to the fact that many magicians have attributed the
authorship of what is now called “Takamiz Move”.
The effects with the cube are interesting
and strong, the performer does not disdain the use of gimmick cubes to achieve his purpose. The
gimmicks are produced and sold by him, but he also shows an interesting principle at very low cost,
which deserves to be explored in depth.
The effects of card magic are known effects all of
an automatic or semi-automatic type, modified by him and I believe also improved in some way, to
name a few Poker Pairadox, Shufflebored, The Other Half, which deserve to be seen.
The
video has the high quality of the Penguin Magic productions, sometimes it is hard to understand the
translator because she gets lost in some technicalities, but thanks to the help of Dan Harlan in the
end it is possible to clearly understand all the steps and techniques .

So you learned Rubik cubes, and want to see what the next level is, well Takamiz here to show you.
This time teaching some crazy things you can do with a deck of cards as well.
But the whole
lecture is worth it for the final effect alone, where he teaches a cube to impossible location that
only needs what you most likely have.
I will say however grab he's first lecture first,
and learn to solve a cube before getting this to get the most out of it.
1. Includes a variety of acts using shell gimmicks. I was able to use it like this! I thought that.
2. In addition to the cube magic, card magic is also included. This was also pretty good.
There is also a connection with cube magic.
3. The new direction was outstanding, and it
would be an opportunity to overcome some of the situation where I was just buying gimmicks and
teasing me at home.
However, the recommendation to cube beginners can be a bit ambiguous.
The difficulty is not high, but the use of gimmick is mainly.
If you have a Rubik's Dream
or Shell, I recommend it to those who are worried about how to use it.
For beginners, I
recommend that you look at the first one before seeing this one, and look at this one.
This is yet another great addition to Rubiks Cube Magic, by the one and only Takamiz. If you havent
watched his first lecture, grab that one as well. They are both just amazing! Thanks alot again, -
waiting for #3!
After spent the last 3 hours watching Takamiz sharing all the techniques and tips, I would have to
be honest this probably one of the best lecture of 2019 so far in my opinion. I really love the way
he think about Rubik’s cube magic. So I think even you are Cube magician or not, this still a must
have in your collection.
