I've been doing this since it first came out. Mr Bannon has genius for simplifying methods without
diluting the effect and this is a perfect example.
It uses any full deck and a couple of
business cards or pieces of paper on which to write your two predictions.
I suggest
letting the spectator win the first round, and because they have won they get to choose with whom to
play round 2 (it can be you or anyone else at the table).
A few years ago I was in Russell
Hall's magic who in Sheffield and there were a couple of young magicians aged about twelve or
thirteen doing pretty advanced slights and moves. I did this for them. They absolutely burned my
hands the whole time watching for moves (there aren't any to spot). Stunned when they read the first
prediction. I let them play round 2 with each other and they were even more amazed.
This is
not part of my repertoire for formal shows. I use it informally when not in a rush. It is for when
you and a few people are casually sitting around a table.
I recommend this routine very
highly.

I'm a fan of most of Bannon's material, and this is no exception. It's simple and straight-forward.
I have to say though, I find it hilarious that some people are upset about "lying" to the
participant. There are thousands of card tricks that begin with "I have here a normal deck of
playing cards..." when they actually aren't. I guess they hate all those too :)

Geez, I hate it when I already know the principle and John still fools me!! He's taken an old idea
and updated it to make it easier and has put the effect into a 'game' concept spectators love . . .
and with no sleights, it's simply a fooler. Buy it--this is one you will use!

This is one of the best self-working tricks out there. Absolutely easy to do. You will fool yourself
with it every time! Get this and you will not be disappointed!

I especially love being fooled and then finding out the simplicity of the magic. Brilliant.

This is the best value of any of the tricks I have gotten from Penguin Magic. It a very impressive
trick for the spectator and is simple to do and works EVERY time. The secret is simple and
something ANYBODY can do with no or little practice.
Get this. You won't be sorry!

A lot of fun,,, John- I think I would switch colors the second time- to add a little misdirection
& to make the spectator think that the color matters,

This is a good trick, but I will probably never use it as I'll describe below.
The biggest
advantage is that it's very simple. An 8 year old can do it. In fact, it might be the first trick
you teach an aspiring young magician as it needs absolutely no sleigh of hand.
The second
advantage is that it uses just the standard deck of cards and they can be shuffled freely by the
spectator. You need to be careful with borrowed deck though cause the trick will not work with an
incomplete deck of cards.
There are a couple of disadvantages though:
1) The trick is
kind of long for what it is and it cannot be shortened. It's not too thrilling to go through all 52
cards twice...
2) It doesn't end in a "wow" moment. The trick has two phases, both take a
couple of minutes to go through and both end with you revealing a correct prediction. This means in
the second half the spectators are only going to get what they've seen and already expect.
So there you have it. If you already have even half a dozen tricks up your sleeve, this one will
probably be a bottom priority. The routine feels like a slightly less exciting game of war, though
the reveal is amusing. Teach it to a kid.

Show skeptical Uncle Joe how you roll after your next family get together. Nice trick and easy to
learn. Great to create a story around as well. Recommended!

Very simple but brilliant! Use any normal borrowed deck, no set up, no gimmicks, and as easy as can
be. Fun!
