Jeki, I’m impressed. When I saw this trick, I thought it was just another haunted deck. But then the
trailer said... NO GIMMICK!!!
I had to see this for myself.
Guys, it’s really
true. I wondered if this would be one of those tricks where the trailer basically lies to you. Nope.
It’s really true. No gimmick. No clean up. Nothing to hide. Nothing to switch. No digging through
your leftover drawer for a “special something that every magician has”. No arts and crafts. No work.
No sleights. No prep.
Oh yeah... it’s simple too.
You’ll be able to perform this
trick right away. (No matter how easy a trick supposedly is, always practice a few times first)
Get this. I give it 4.5 stars... I reserve 5 stars for extremely mind blowing tricks... for a
haunted deck (WITH NO GIMMICK!!!), I award you the highest score I can. 😎
By the way, I
always try to be honest and straightforward in my reviews, while being respectful to the magician.

I really like this. You can see the entire trick in the preview, and it's exactly as clean and
magical looking as the preview.
A few points:
Difficulty: This is pretty
difficult. Uses one sleight (or to be more exact, half of a sleight) that I think most people would
consider an 'advanced' card sleight.
Teaching: This is a no-frills tutorial. Jeki Yoo does
explain everything, but it's straightforward and quick. To give some context, the entire tutorial
video is under 7 minutes, including 2 live performances. He does run through the sleight used in
this trick, but if you're not already familiar with it, some other source would probably be a better
place to learn it.
Practicality: Here's a tricky one. Without (hopefully) giving too much
away, this won't work as easily with all card boxes. You can see him holding the card box in the
demo, which makes the effect even cleaner since you're not touching the deck, but not all card boxes
are as effective. To his credit, Jeki Yoo does mention this issue in the video and says to be aware
of it. But as long as you've got the right cards, this is fully impromptu.
Angles: This is
an easy one. Practically perfect angles from any direction.
In conclusion, I really like
it. I'll probably put in the work to get this down, but in practice, I probably won't get to
actually perform it that often. Still very fun, magical, and in the right situation, amazing. Been
wanting to add a good Haunted Deck trick into my repertoire for a while, and I think this is the
closest one to make it in.

I don’t like giving negative reviews -- I've done it but I don't like it. So, I’m very glad I
waited to review Fright. When I first got it, I was not happy with the tutorial. It was very
short, the explanation was not clear, and after several viewings I realized this was not something I
would be able to learn without someone standing next to me to show me how it's done. Today, after
deciding to write my review anyway, I took another look at the tutorial and – surprise! - they've
changed it. Jeki's explanation has been expertly supplemented and now it makes sense to me! This
will take a bit of practice to make the get-ready look smooth, but I like the basic idea and the
illusion is nice. I give it 4 stars because I still think it's a bit knacky and as such I may not
use it often, but I am now willing to work on it which I wasn't before. Nice effect for the price.

The idea is pretty good, but it would take A LOT of work to get the moves right. The demo is short
and perfunctory--there should be a lot more instruction on how to make the first move and how to
align the card perfectly.

I’m sure if you have been into magic for a while, you may have seen or owner a few Haunted Decks but
this is truly unique. This is really amazing, devious and visually astounding without using any
gimmicks. Before you know it Halloween will be upon us but you don’t have to wait until then. Do it
anytime, anywhere as it is impromptu. The deck it totally unprepared - nothing to make, buy extra or
add to the deck. The spectator can shuffle and really pick whatever card they want - no forces. When
you find out how it is done you will be floored, I have never seen anything like this ever before.
There is a little work to be practiced along with a minor sleigh that you will probably
already know and use. There is nothing that difficult that you cannot master quickly. Angles are
excellent if done properly. You can do this anytime in your routine whether you use a table or in a
strolling environment. A great buy, don’t hesitate, you won't regret it.

I agree with the other reviewers.
This will take a bit of practice, but none of the moves are
hard.
This is completely impromptu, and can be done with a borrowed, shuffled, incomplete deck.
The deck does need to have an ungimmicked case, as the case is used to support the "haunted"
deck.

I’ve always really loved the Haunted Deck, but I never want to carry a gimmicked deck. This
completely solves that issue and to a layperson, this is just as mysterious.
The reveal
can’t be visual (as in face up slowly sliding out of the deck), but in my opinion that’s not the
mysterious part.
Easy handling and no gimmicks necessary that can be done with probably
any deck of cards and card case. Minor sleight of hand knowledge is used.

I love the haunted deck plot - it’s visual and in the right circumstances can be a show stopping
piece of magic.
One of the issues for me has been the challenge of any gaffs or fiddly set
up.
My personal favourite set up is Eugene Burgers where the deck can be left with the
spectator however fright could come in as a close second.
There is no gaff just some really
interesting and clever handling. The video explains the handling clearly and is well produced. There
is a ‘knack’ to it which may take a little practice to make look totally smooth and you may need to
think about the ‘quality’ of the deck (it may not work so well with borrowed, dog earned cards.
But this method is very cool and worth learning.
It’s organic, flows well and does
create a super reaction.

The Impromptu Haunted Deck Great concept with no gimmick. Simple slight with A kick. Took very
little time to learn. Can be used with most barrowed decks.
. I like it
