The opening discussion and the interview were pleasant, if a bit rambling and unfocused. But then
Magic Dave delivered a ruthlessly efficient masterclass on the 8 Card Brainwave! (Including the
original version and multiple improvements and variations, as well as ideas for using business
cards.) I will buy a few more of these... For a free gift, this was a huge value. Thanks Penguin
Magic and Magic Dave!

What a talented magician. What a treat to see the 8 Card Brainwave explained like that, wow. I've
always found pilot shows lacking, not in talent, but in catching the audience's attention due to
having to introduce the basics of what future shows will enlighten the viewer. I really didn't see
what I wanted to see until the 30 min mark. I believe that if the first two showings of 8 Card
Brainwave had been introduced in the beginning, with more detailed versions to follow, it would have
kept my attention. Then discuss what the show is about, guest speaker, and finally the entire
Brainwave performance.
I normally rate pilot shows with 3 Stars, but the quality of the
detailed 8 Card Brainwave in the finally really made the pilot. Just saying.

As a novice I would like to thank those that make learning more available to myself and others. I
have been fascinated with the art for as much of my 66 years as I can remember. I watched Mark
Wilson on TV as a youngster and have always been amazed by all. I am trying to learn the art but
dexterity and memory hinders the process.
Thank you again for making lessons more readily
available!

The Magic Dave Show is an excellent idea. A little magic talk, interviewing a guest magician,
learning an illusion or two; great idea. Dave sounds knowledgeable, witty, humorous, and
informative. And actually I'm not a magician; simply an "amateur enthusiast" and this kind of a
show is just what I needed. Looking forward to more of them.

Anything Dave Williamson does is engaging, ingenious and totally magical! His love and knowledge of
the art is limitless, and this series is a great opportunity to be both entertained and to learn, as
well as meet some of the masters he has known over the years. I look forward to these sessions.
Besides, I share his antipathy for ventriloquists except, of course, for Senor Wenses.

Let's face it, we are all fans of Dave. The Holi-Dave Spectacular was informative, very relaxed and
entertaining. It concludes with the performance and teaching of Eight Card Brainwave. I love this
effect for its impact and simplicity. Easy to learn, but not so easy as to be unchallenging. I first
became interested in this routine, whereby the spectator chooses the only card that is different to
the other seven cards, when I watched Lennart Green's Mirror Count. Lovely magic, but a tad more
"sleighty" than David's routine, which I find easier to perform thanks in no small part to the
wonderful Olram subtlety.

Really love the way that Dave show us is routine. Tiny thing that you can do with little packet.
Love it

There was just a bit too much chat from Dave at the beginning which I assume will be less in future
shows as he was explaining his plans and motivation, and I was not particularly fond of the similar
theme of chat with Ben Earl. What I enjoyed more were the performances, even of the cup and ball but
especially the good old 8-card Brainwave - very nice improvements which I will endeavour to use.

I like the interview and Davids start with Ben Earl as the guest also liked the questions David
gave. The moves, or routines in the first interview were small so if the interviews in the future
continue as this one I wouldn't subscribe unless you want to hear more stories and insights into why
they became a magician what they prefer to perform. Overall really enjoyed it.

Watch this for free courtesy of Penguin Magic. It was good to see Dave talking and expressing his
love of magic. Great introduction to this new format, in order to see the full show you have to
subscribe to gain the extra footage.
Not sure about that feature and how it will play out
over the course of the next several episodes. Good to see Dave’s work and ideas on the 8 Card
Brainwave.
I gave it 4 stars based on the overall concept and content, however it’s FREE
and full marks to Penguin in spreading some much needed festival cheer to all their customers.
