Erik Tait has earned a reputation for performing some of the toughest sleight of hand with cards under the most demanding conditions, and now he's going to teach those skills to you. In this brand new in-depth class, Erik will be focusing on not only teaching you the sleights you've always wanted to learn, but also grow the confidence of all of the students so that by the end of this four-week course you will be palming, shuffling, and controlling cards like a pro. This class is designed to take a beginner in card magic and open up a whole new world of magic to them. In addition to new sleight of hand moves, you'll learn the tricks that Erik really performs every day. This course is for anyone who wants to demystify the sleight of hand the pros use to perform miracles.
Week 1: Palming
No matter the size of your hand, you'll learn to hold out, go south, and hide cards from your audience. If you've ever wanted to do a trick, but passed on it because it required palming this is the class for you. Students will learn not only classic palming, but cops, lateral palm, and gain the confidence to use these moves.
Week 2: Steals & Controls
How many times have you read the words, "Control the card to the top of the deck using your favorite method?" By the end of this lesson, you'll have lots of new options. Students will learn methods of controlling cards more efficient and deceptive than The Pass. This lesson might just snap some students into a new way of thinking.
Lesson 3: False Shuffles
A good false shuffle is a great card magician's best friend. Students will learn both in the hands and tabled false shuffles. Many wonderful effects are enhanced by using a particular shuffle. Erik will take you through the methods he uses in both formal and informal performances as well as selecting the right shuffle for the right situation.
Lesson 4: The Cull
Students will get a detailed look inside the Hofsinzer Spread Cull, and how to use it to position cards as well as to separate the deck into distinct groups under the audience's nose. By the end of this class you will be able to secretly divide a deck of cards into reds and blacks, odds and evens, or any other group in just a few seconds
