Erik Tait’s ability with a deck of cards has secretly been helped along by a small addition to his deck of cards that gives him total control. For years Erik has quietly worked with a stripper deck, but this special kind of stripper deck flies by knowledgeable magicians, and even people in the know can’t find the gimmicks in his deck. Penguin has finally convinced him him to share this material for the first time. Attending this class you will learn not only work with a traditional stripper deck, you’ll learn   techniques that will give you total control over selected cards, the aces, and so much more. This is the stuff that has helped Erik win awards on the international stage, and now you can learn to have total control. 

Week 1: The Wedge

In the first week you will learn how to use a traditional stripper deck so it flies under the radar. You may know how a stripper deck works, but putting the power in your hand will make you start using the stripper deck to wow your audiences. 

Week 2: The Ordinary Deck

In the second week you’ll learn how to apply the principles of a stripper deck to the deck of cards you have in your pocket. This closely guarded secret is going to become your new secret weapon to control selected cards, groups of cards, and do some very powerful magic after your audience has shuffled the deck. This fools even the people who know exactly what a stripper deck is.

Week 3: The Real Work

Once you’ve learned to control the cards you will be able to look like an expert card magician. Week 3 will introduce you to a range of principles, strategies, and approaches to this work that will allow you to perform miracles. You’ll learn to produce the aces from a shuffled deck, dead cut to selected cards, and control a selected card even after the audience has put the card back themselves and shuffled the deck.

Week 4: The Secret

In the final week you’ll learn the holy grail of stripper work. The deck can be scrambled on the table by the audience, shuffled in any direction by multiple people. With just a few shuffles and cuts you’ll be producing the aces, the kings, even selected cards. This is arguably one of the most powerful tools in Erik’s sleight of hand repertoire and he’s going to share all of the work with you. There is not complicated memory work, no ultra difficult riffle stacking, and the best part is that it’s shockingly easy to do. By the end of week four you’ll be the one your friends are afraid to play cards with. 

Total Control is a complete course in the stripper deck and it’s many variations. You’ll get hands on learning in a private classroom setting with Erik Tait. This class is for all skill levels, only a introductory level of card magic knowledge is required to join the course. Class Policies

Classes are not recorded and thus no video is available after class even if you miss a class. These classes are intended to be a personal safe spaces for all ages, that foster trust and confidence, where you can ask questions and demonstrate magic without fear. The drawback to this is that if you miss a class, it's not available after. Notes may be available, but not guaranteed.

It is mandatory that all students have a working video camera and leave it on for the duration of each class.

These sessions are not to be recorded. Please do not use Zoom’s recording feature, or third-party recording software to store these classes for later viewing.

Registration can be cancelled or changed until 5 days prior to the class start date. If you are purchasing classes as a gift, it is your responsibility to inform us of the recipient’s name during checkout or by emailing support@penguinmagic.com. Late cancellations, transfers, name changes cannot be accommodated after the cancellation/change cutoff date.
