The black cap length is much shorter than the original silver cap. That means when you place the cap on, it doesn't sit deep enough into the pen (it almost just rests on top) and it easily falls off. If you go to take the pen out of your pocket, if the wax is partially on the cap, or if the wax+thread retracts quickly, there's a risk of the cap coming off.

I'm not sure why he would make the black cap different dimensions from the original. I got a replacement thinking it was defective but the replacement was the same. Penguin customer service was excellent, but unfortunately this product is basically unusable due to this issue

Buy it if you have dark clothes and want to hide more your spider pen x. The reason i have give 4 star is the cap is loosse and fell off but if you put some wax on it the problem is fixed.

The cap is smaller for some reason, but it's still usable, if you use the wax on the sides of it and place it in and clean off the excess, as a stand alone, it will fall off, not sure if the wax will damage the unit in some way but hopefully it won't, so hope yigal will make a better cap in the future, so if you'd like the black accessories, I just recommend you just paint them your self (unless you lost your original and have to get this, then you'll have to us the wax method unless you want to risk the cap falling off somewhere)
