"I am always jealous of these two guys, and now these great card tricks just gave me one more reason to hate them." -Lu Chen, Merlin Award winning star of CCTV New Year's Gala

"If I could only do 6 cards tricks for the rest of my life. These would be it." -Nick Locapo, creator of Pinky Thing

"What?? These are actual good tricks! -Alex Boyer, star of Big Trick Energy

"I’ve heard from people I trust that the download is very good, the tricks are strong and the teaching is well done. And I’m happy that some people for whom this style of magic is a natural fit, are going to learn about it for the first time from this download." -Andy, thejerx

"Whatever you think of Justin and Rick personally there is no denying they are brilliant magicians. Rick is responsible for some of my favourite effects of all time. On this project they showcase why they are so good at magic. The material is strong, powerful, heavy hitting and commercial. If you are into close up magic there will absolutely be a stack of material on here you will love." -Craig Petty, creator of Chop and Quantum Deck

“Surefire, battle-tested routines to use whenever huge reactions and big laughs are a necessity.
Each of these routines are hardwired with spectacular moments that burrow themselves into the spectator’s memories that last long after the performance.”
-Adam Trent, star of The Magic Maker (ABC, Hulu, Disney+)

"Lots of great ideas and twists on impromptu card tricks anyone you can perform anywhere." - Xavier Mortimer

"If Justin Flom and Rick Lax were a spice they would be flour. I'm also willing to bet that their parents change the subject when people ask about them. With that being said, if you want to spend money on card tricks suggest picking this up.." -PigCake, some YouTube guy

“Rick Lax and Justin Flom have theory and presentation ideas that will take your magic from your crusty bedroom out to the real world. These 6 card tricks are fun, engaging, and above all entertaining for spectator AND performer. No fancy shuffles or cuts but a few weird angles that make complete sense. There are some self working brilliance that everyone should pay attention to. The sleights are easy for all levels to execute yet deeply deceptive. The routines are contemporary and allow the performer to have the freedom to play in a non-creepy magician way." -Billy Kidd, star of Discovery Channel’s “Breaking Magic” and HBO’s upcoming “The Baby”

“With a borrowed, shuffled pack of cards and an eye towards how to entertain with real world blockbusters, the audience reactions say it all." -Gregory Wilson, creator of Hundy 500 and Fistful of Dollars

“Freakout is honestly one of the coolest and most innovative new presentations for an effect, and I can’t wait to perform it.” -Erik Tait, creator of Ultra Lucky Coin

“A great introduction to miracle card magic!” -Luis de Matos

"This is not just a collection of some of the most deceptive and easy to learn card tricks in the world, this is a master class on performing magic tricks in the real world, for real people. Ricky and Justin share invaluable bits of advice that come from real-world experience, self-awareness, and refreshing honesty." -Ryan Stock, from AGT Champions, and star of Guinea Pig on Discovery Channel

Way,way too much yacking and story telling. Rick and Justin never shut up and just teach the tutorial. Laughing, giggling, pontificating. By the time they get back to the tutorial you forgot what the trick was. I love YOU GUYS, YOUR SITE IS GREAT. But because of the jabbering the entire tutorial was a waste of time.

Great for beginners. Virtually self-working tricks. Can be done with a borrowed, shuffled deck.

Most importantly, Rick & Justin take these tricks to a whole new level by teaching you how to be very entertaining to your audience by engaging them in interesting stories.

If you want to learn how to really connect with people through your magic, get this now! It may very well change how you look at performing magic forever.

Absolutely wonderful audience-tested lessons from Rick, Justin & Penguin! Great job guys!

Those are nice tricks, we'll packaged, but in the end they are pretty long story for not that crazy effect. I think the title is misleading, I didn't mind: "6 cool card tricks". Not sure I can use any of those in real life performance.

I liked a couple of the tricks. I wouldn't call these the 6 best though.

Better title: "Automatic impromptu effects with engaging presentations" Report this review

Here's what happened: I watched the entire video, and I wasn't really impressed with the card tricks, what I really loved was the stories wrapped around the trick, the presentation, how they got their audience engaged and entertained..
I got so inspired, I got a deck of cards in my hands and started thinking how I can make my own "in the hands triumph" routine a better experience for the spectator.
The day after, I tried my new version of the triumph routine and I got a 10 times better response!

The production was top notch, the spectators were a treat to look at, and the whole download was for free! How can I not give out 5 stars?!

Thanks Penguin!

Some very good principles were covered in the explanations of these 6 effects. However, I had to rate the six effects 3 stars overall because some of the routines were much too long in their presentation. As a result, much of the entertainment value is lost. Also, I feel there are other routines which should be on the list.

If you are new to card magic these 6 effects are gold, they are so strong and will blow minds.
If you have been into magic for a long time then this download will also blow your mind because you will look at old methods in a totally new way. Beside the tricks there are all the hints and tips about how to perform and why things work (or don't work).
If you haven't got this yet, don't hesitate, get it now. You won't regret it

The title here is strange since all of these tricks are creations from Rick and Justin. They are designed to be conversational and I like the thought process behind them. I just did not like the way these routines were constructed. Most of these tricks are very long and your audience may tune out on them. A lot of them are procedural and try to use presentation to justify the weird procedure. I found some of the presentations to insult the audience, and others were pretty corny. The tricks just don't really make any sense. I found Rick incredibly obnoxious. He would constantly interrupt Justin and go off on rants. There was also a bunch of unnecessary swearing. It was nice of Penguin to offer a free download but this just didn't deliver.

Insightful Presentation Methodology Report this review

Rich and Justin get together to present the 6 "greatest" card tricks....a bit tongue in cheek, perhaps, but really good ones.

The value of this purchase is to learn, and perhaps enhance one's presentation skills, moving to a more story-type of M.O. both for these 6 tricks and others perhaps in your repertorie.

Besides, it's free!
