"Dean Dill's 'Blizzard' caused a storm on its release decades ago. The method flew by everyone! I loved demoing this effect when I worked at Showplace Magic and am so happy it'll be available again." - Paul Vigil

"Dean was a monster when it came to fooling people - especially magicians - very badly and Blizzard was one of his most diabolical creations." - R. Paul Wilson

"I will never forget the little smile Dean had after showing me Blizzard. He was smiling as he knew how badly he had fooled me. It's great to see this amazing trick come back to the magic community. Buy it, learn it, perform it." - Kozmo

"One day I was sitting in Dean Dill’s barber shop when he performed Blizzard for one of his customers. After he finished, I was surprised at the trick but, after some thought, I thought I figured it out. Dean “accidentally” left the deck on the table and the spectator went for the deck. I quickly grabbed it and took it away. I was floored as there was nothing to see. Not only had Dean fooled his spectator but he had fooled me badly. Dean just gave his typical little laugh. Wow. Blizzard left an impression on me for many years. If you learn this, it can do the same for your audience." - Jesse Dee

"Unfortunately Dean is a magician I never had the pleasure to meet. I familiar with his work and I and I was and still am a huge fan. Blizzard fooled me years ago when a magician performed it for me. I was completely fooled and amazed. It is routine that will elevate your show. I say: GET IT!" - Bill Malone

"Dean Dill gave me my monthly haircut for many years (he did the best he could with what he had to work with). There was never an appointment that didn’t include me getting fried by some devious Dean deceit. Nearly as entertaining was hanging out after and watching the reaction of the next target. Blizzard was particularly great in that regard. Watching Dean boldly do the “secret move” right in front of the unsuspecting sucker was a real treat. If I didn’t know that Dean was a good Christian man, I’d believe he was in league with the Devil." - Mac King

"I watched Dean fool just about everybody with Blizzard." - Bob Kohler

“I hate to admit how badly Blizzard fooled me — even when I knew what to expect.” - Gregory Wilson

"This is Dean Dill’s best selling trick because it is relatively easy to do and it is incredibly impactful." - Martin Kaplan

After your audience has examined the deck, vanish the ink off every card except the one they named. Once you reveal the blank deck, your audience will have no way to backtrack on how you accomplished this absolute miracle. This is the definitive work on the trick that fooled a generation of magicians. This is Blizzard by Dean Dill.

Here’s what happens:

The magician asks the audience to name any playing card. There's no equivoke, fishing process, or weird scripting. The card they want is the card you use. The magician removes the selected card, along with the other three cards of the same value. The spectator mixes the four cards face down on the table, and then the magician successfully divines which of the four is the named card. Then, in an astonishing moment, the audience never sees coming; the other three cards are turned over and revealed to have blank faces. Then the rest of the deck is turned over, and it's completely blank. The only card that isn't blank is the card the audience named, and everything can be examined.

The stories of Dean Dill’s barbershop are legendary. Magicians would travel from around the world just to be fooled by the local barber. You knew that when you stepped inside, you would see something amazing, and the trick that fooled them all was Blizzard. In addition to a redesign of the gimmick to make it more durable and easy to use than ever before, you will be getting the complete work on the Blizzard plot. The tutorial, nearly 90 minutes in length, also features the complete work on Colossal Blizzard by Tony Miller, an advanced handling of Colossal Blizzard created by Luke Jermay, and Colossal Blizzard 2.0 by Magick Balay that leaves you 100% clean without any deck switches at all. This is the last word in blank face deck effects. The audience names the card, and with no forces, no sleight of hand, and no magician's choice, their card is inevitably the only printed card in a sea of white. Put your audience on ice with Blizzard by Dean Dill.

Really good…but Report this review

Really clever, easy to do and simply (which is good)…. but the trailer doesn’t show the whole performance and there IS a risk you will get caught doing a necessary ‘move’…… it’s still very good tho’, just think trailers should be more honest

Even tho i didnt buy this one on penguin i have to review this because it is great. Not only are you getting a killer card trick but you are also getting an awesome gimmick that can be used for other tricks as well. Let me give you an example. If you purchase this trick along with revolver on this same site and grab yourself a blue blank face and double blank deck all can be purchased on here , you can really do an impossible routine that i came up with. Imagine performing revolver and changing the red cards to blue. Then imagine showing both sides of the deck spread out and having the spectator pick a card and you perform blizzard with the blue deck. Then after the cards do a fadeout of the faces snap your fingers and you can then show that all the cards in the deck turned blank on both sides of the deck. And can be 100 percent examinable at the end. Pretty cool right ? RIGHT !.

Great Deck Switch and Routine Report this review
Verified buyer Pro Privacy ON (login to see reviewer names) on February 7th, 2023
I have been working on deck switching for a long time. I own Cold Case by Greg Wilson and have made many DIY tuck box switching gimmicks for many years. nted, Greg Wilson goes over his switch with Cold Case in great detail. But it's still a little knacky to do the switch.

The effect is killer and the reactions are always great. Well thought out and relatively easy to perform.

Now here is the best part. I use this switch for all of my deck switches - it may not be as good as those outlined in Giobbi's book, but it is well made, will last a lifetime and is the best deck switch done right under the spectators nose.

I have performed this hundreds of times and have NEVER been burned. It's so simple - in the Blizzard case, when the spectator is mixing up the four "cards of the same number", you simply lift the box, place the first deck into the gimmick and put it away. No one has ever assumed anything funny going on. It just gets lost while the spectator is concentrating on their job at hand.

Lastly, I sometimes do the switch and put the warm deck into the gimmick and place it right back on the table. Never, ever have I had any issue with leaving the gimmick on the table. It's clean and simple.

I'm more than pleased with the purchase as the main trick is first class and I get to use it for other tricks as well. Well done, Dean Dill - RIP.

So Much Fun to Perform Report this review
Verified buyer Pro Privacy ON (login to see reviewer names) on January 25th, 2024
This is truly my favourite card trick! I'm not sure if it's because of the reactions I get, or because of the method. Doing something this bold in front of an audience and getting away with it is so much fun!

I've done this routine a few times now. People have started laughing and gasping even before the final spread. It's super easy to learn with a large impact. I think the value is excellent!

be fearless Report this review

This trick is easy and gets some jaws to drop when you show all the blank cards. You have to be fearless when you grab the box to hide the cards, I say to the spectators that I will turn around so they can mix the cards but as I turn around I grab the box and can hide the cards with nobody watching.

This is an incredible update to an already amazing effect.

The new gimmick is beautifully made and perfectly sized. With a little bit of care, it should basically last a lifetime. This alone is a significant upgrade.

You get a ton of great video instruction and footage of Dean Dill. There are a few different ways to handle & present the effect.

Because of the routine's built-in misdirection, this is a great way to build confidence with certain sneaky moves.

Most importantly, it's an incredibly powerful effect that ends with all of the cards clean & examinable. Nothing beats having a card FREELY named, and then ending with that card as the ONLY card in the deck, with all the others as true blanks. No R&S, nothing that isn't what it seems.

Great Trick Report this review

This was the trick that proved to me the true power of misdirection. The key move is breathtakingly bold--done in full view of the spectators-yet nobody sees it! It's a little pricey for what you get but the lesson learned was more than worth the money for me.

This is just beautiful in its simplicity. You may feel like the moves should be obvious, but you have no reason to feel guilty. I have performed this for some very saavy people and have never been caught. The built in misdirection is just that good. My only critique is that it’s a “one trick” deck, so you have to choose between this or invisible deck, or any of the other “one trick” decks. Having said that, the very sturdy gimmick provided could be used in countess other situations. This is not cheap…but I feel it was worth it.
