Hey Yall,
Story: Over Christmas I participated in a Christmas talent show. I started with
some easy tricks, then worked up to hard hitting tricks. The audience was hanging on every word.
Towards the end of my routine I did some mental tricks, read minds and the like. Then, after my
closer, I remembered that I hadnt done the Color Monte. I did it and everyone was floored.
After the party, everyone kept asking me to repeat tricks (though I did not). The color Monte
was the one they talked about the most. Thats right, even more than the ones with back-breaking
slight of hand.
Pros:
1. Awesome reactions
2. Easy to learn. You can master it in
a few hours if you know the basic move. The move is a staple
3. Carry it everywhere.
Everyone loves it so I carry it around everywhere in my wallet. You wont regret it
4. You can
repeat it once (though not recommended, you can repeat it-see Con 2)
Cons:
1. Keep
the cards clean. My cards have become dirty on one side making it easy for a very apt spectator to
find out the secret. Thankfully, I havent been caught yet. Maybe its just my cards
2.
People are often caught up in the story so much that they feel like it happened too quickly
On a hard-hitting scale of 1-5 this gets a 4. Thats saying a lot from a critic like me. In
conclusion: I love it! If you havent purchased it, do so, even if you arent into cards.

I have been performing color monte as my close up opener for over 20 year. I love that fact that you
end clean and can hand out the cards. While it does take some simple sleights, its well worth the
practice. By performing this first and being able to hand out the cards, it takes the heat off of
other packet tricks where you can't. If you don't own it, get it NOW!

This is a very fun routine, and definitely worth the time to work on. As you've seen from the demo,
the sequence is fairly lengthy, so it will take some time to learn the patter that goes with the
storyline, and then to coordinate how each move fits in with it.
These moves really aren't
that difficult, but you will need to work on them. The key to this effect is to keep everything
running fast and smoothly. If you start pausing or thinking, it's going to ruin the entire routine.
Probably the most difficult move required is a double-lift, but since you're only holding three
cards, it's really not that big of a deal.
Everyone who works with cards needs to have some
sort of Monte routine in their repertoire, and this one is as good as any. The sleights are easy,
the finish is a nice kicker, and all the cards are completely examinable.

This trick is good because everything is examinable and it is so easy. If you are a beginner this is
your first monte to learn, and teaches some key sleights to start your magic career.

- Written instructions were difficult to learn from until after watching video. Then, they were
invaluable to learn the patter and contextualise the moves. Also this effect uses a lot of patter in
context with a lot of moves (well, seems that way at first) so the wall of text is a little
overwhelming.
Video - presentation and tutorial were professional quality, clearly articulated,
and free of ads and selfglorification-humour. A "pure" tutorial that teaches effectively. There is
one move I could not hear the name of but I do not wish it named here, and it's not necessary to
know the name in order to learn the trick.
Items received included a wallet to preserve these
cards, which does not detract from the effect during performance - unique cards with BicycleBacks.
I did my Layman's test on the cards - 1 normal Bike and one of these unique cards in each hand,
face down, noticed no perceivable difference between the cards.
Lots of room to personalise
this story and presentation.
I have too much to say and not enough room, but I am not
omitting my "negatives" - yep that's all. Great quality, and an effect that reconnected me to that
old WonderRush as both a spec and a performer.

This was the first slight of hand card routine that I ever took the time to really get down cold. I
have probably gone through a couple of dozen sets of this in the last 50 years or so.
Unquestionably, the best and most famous packet trick of all time...

You start clean and end clean. Fun to perform. Amazing reactions. Add to Cart.

This is my favorite packet trick. I love to perform it and its very easy to perform. Its great for
a beginner or a professional. The ending is the kicker, people think they know what is going to
happen at the end...then POW!! Then the surprise a $14 card to their surprise. If you like
packet tricks...then ADD TO CART...don't wait add now.

I love this easy, easily carried trick. Once the handling and patter are down, this is a good trick
to keep on you and ready to present at anytime.

I have used this trick for years and it never fails to please. My primary shows are for children but
after the show the adults gather and I get this trick out as an intro to a few adult tricks. The
slights are easy to do no knuckle busting and the patter flows easly off the lips. If you are
transitioning to a few gambling type tricks. This is a fun light hearted aproach. Freindly to women
and children. Very powerfull and easy to do. An instant reset. Over all I Highly recomend this
trick. Michel Skinners Ultimate Monte is a great second trick to follow this.
Thanks Magic
Tad
