Very clever well done trick. Minimal sleights, but you have to be careful what you show and how you
handle the cards. With a different card gimmick you can end clean, which is so crazy. Your
spectators will think you are a professional con artist after seeing this. Minds will be blown. The
slower you do this trick the stronger the impact of it will be. Take your time with this one, you
may even fool yourself. Many thanks to Paul Wilson for this effect. This is absolutely going into my
everyday carry of packet tricks.

This is a great trick - I have always wanted to have a version of this old idea available and within
reach for me and THIS is it! Everything within my reach and all you need is just practice. The
instruction on the video is great and the gimmick is just fine - it will last a life time (specially
if you are as old as I am!)

This gets a three star rating because three is the average between one and five.
The effect
itself and R. Paul Wilson’s tutorial are five stars.
P3’s production of this effect gets one
star from me.
P3 has gotten lazy in the production of this effect.
How so, you ask?
They
do not include any live performances by Mr. Wilson himself.
In the tutorial Mr. Wilson talks
about all the moments of magic in this routine and how to enjoy the by-play with the spectator and
also the audience management he recommends.
This same effect is marketed on this site with a DVD
and the gimmicked card needed. I found a 14 year old YouTube video wherein Mr.Wilson says he has
been performing this effect for “over twenty years”. That means Mr. Wilson has been performing this
effect for at least 34 years.
Yet, P3 did not feel that a live performance by Mr. Wilson, after
honing this effect for decades, was warranted.
Instead we get one live performance by Erik Tait
who loses his place in the routine but manages to stumble his way through it.
Did P3 scrap that
performance video and included a clean performance of the effect? No, that singular, mediocre
performance with Eriks’ interpretation and bumbling patter made the final cut.
At the end
of the tutorial Mr. Wilson asks the viewer if you have performed C.C.M.!
I turn the question
back on him and ask if he performed it, and if so, why were those performances not included in the
production of this effect?
Don’t get me wrong, Erik is a fantastic magician and his live
performance included in this production proves that even professionals make mistakes.
The
big mistake here is that we do not get to see how Mr. Wilson performs the effect for a live
audience, especially after decades of perfecting it.
I am very disappointed in P3s’
production of this great effect!

I’d prefer to pan this trick do no one else gets it, but I’ll be truthful in saying it’s really
good. Simple, to the point, easy to follow with whatever routine you employ, and each phase makes
sense and merges seamlessly into the next. This resembles Steve Valentine’s 3, but there are key
differences. If you’re a fan of monte tricks or similar themes, this is solid and recommended.

Very good tutorial.
Easy to follow and understand.
Comes with a unique gimmick.
This
version of the 3 Card Monte scam is intelligent and extremely fooling.
Lay people will not
easily be able to track back this little gem.
I love it.

I am a working pro and I have road tested things for a year or more before writing a review.
However, I am writing this review just after watching the video for the first time, so I can’t speak
about the “reactions that I get.” I’m confident (because of the teaching) that the reactions will
be adequate when I am ready to perform this.
I’m very impressed with Mr. Wilson’s teaching.
He was thorough and detailed about everything. It was great. He also went through the steps
individually and then altogether from beginning to end. He runs through the whole thing from
beginning to end a second time, but more quickly and it was a great help in getting all of those
things together because he says, “put the cards in your hand” and then you can see the whole thing
from over the shoulder while you do everything with him. It was really, really helpful.
He’s got a pleasant style and comfortable way about him. He had a lot to say about this effect
and some others related to it when discussing its creation and development. It was awesome to hear
about that and the tips and subtleties that he has learned over the years of developing this effect.
He helps you know what the spectators will watch for and what they won’t notice. He really does an
excellent job of teaching this, and since he invented it and has learned from years of repetition,
no one could possibly help you more.
As for the cards, they are real, quality bicycle
cards, so they are smooth and easy to maneuver. They are specially printed and look perfect. You
can’t tell that they are special when you see the effect. They look perfectly normal to anyone who’s
seeing the effect.
The whole routine looks awesome and I love it. I am eager to try it,
but I will need a few more times through the video I think, just to remember everything.
I
usually “practice” new effects on my family and friends, before I try them out on strangers. I
haven’t tried this yet, but listening to Mr. Wilson’s teaching, you get to find out that he has
worked this and honed it down to the beautiful thing that it is, by experimenting and eliminating
unnecessary moves over time and this kind of builds up a confidence based on taking his word for it,
but years of experience can be trusted. Besides, it looks natural and fooling to me. I see several
moments of magic, that can be capitalized on, plus you get to hear from your audience about where
they think the queen might be - on the first display.
It’s got everything I like in an
effect. It’s a whole routine not just a five second flash. In a paid gig, you won’t give them a
chance to examine the cards, but a clever magician would come up with ways to switch out the cards
if anyone wants to see them up close. A switching envelope, a multiple card sleight, or just pocket
management will solve that if it comes up. It won’t be a problem for me.
I’m happy with my
purchase. I spent $20.00 but I imagine that I will get to perform this MANY times before the cards
wear out. I’ve used some of my other gimmicks to death but it took YEARS. This will last just as
long. The video teaching is worth years of trial and error and you just can’t put a price on that.
Overall, the value of this packet trick is far beyond the asking price, for any working pro. For
hobbyists, I think that the thrill of surprising everyone at the next party will be worth it, too.
This one is a winner!
It’s okay, fun method. You need a table to perform mist trick as you can’t really use it on the go
or walk around Magic.
I gave it minus two star as even with over month of practice, memorizing
all the moves and practising on numerous people (alone and in person) this trick doesn’t work 100%
of the time. You have to be constantly worried and careful about flashing the gimmick as a slightest
wrong move, shake, or bump can ruin the effect.
I recommend looking up other Monte routines if
you want something, a little bit more beginner or intermediate friendly, with this routine, it takes
a lot of memorization and forced execution at every turn to make sure to have a perfect performance
(and to be honest, I’m not into that)
I wish I could say this is a jar sitter, but I sold it to
magic friend for $3 so it won’t even be that
This is a relatively easy routine with great responses!
I found it easy to perform I think I practiced it two times before I was able to do it I posted it
to my YouTube to my LinkedIn to my TikTok and to my Facebook. I had so many people tell me that I
just blew their minds away.
I highly recommend this easy to do packet trick It is something you
can keep in your pocket and just blow people's minds away with
They will think you are the most
skillful magician as that queen moves into places and disappears from places within seconds
Fun and easy trick to do with a good punch at the end. I’m not a professional but I love magic and
play and do tricks for family and friends. Had a dinner with family and pulled this one out after
dinner and got surprised looks and good reactions. Love this one and it’s a good one to keep on hand
at all times
