I really wanted this to work but so far it's a dud. It sets off about 30% of the time. A after many
trys I have yet to get it to push cards off or shoot a coin. I am going to keep trying but I am
getting the impression this is a dud.

The gimmick is very interesting, not always the correct card turn face up, but the surprise is so
strong that you can simply find the correct card. I had think that was difficult to set up the deck,
but in one evening i found how to set up all in simply and fast way. The real problem is one of the
component, like "flap" that is too much near the fire, so after only 10-15 used, it "burned" The
price is sell from them, 10 pieces 24€ circa, but for 110$ i want something more durable

I love this trick.
Firstly - I'm a full-time pro, not a hobbiest.
Ok - on to the
review. All the bad reviews I've read are due to user error. Basically, they wanted this to work
perfectly with no practice. Duh...that's not going to happen. Even though this is a
mechanical/electronic trick, you STILL have to practice with it!
Now - how do you make it
work every time? Firstly, you'll need to determine HOW MANY cards you want to use. I find 8 to be
reasonable. I don't even switch decks. I just spread the top 8, they select, and I'm ready to go.
Secondly, you have to measure exactly the right amount of flash cotton to get exactly the
right boom. If you have TOO much, you can potentially blow the gimmick off the deck. If you have too
little, it just flashes and separates the cards a little but they don't flip over.
Thirdly, you need to make sure your internal leads are close enough to spark properly. If you
have them separated too far, they don't light. This happened only once to me after cleaning. Then I
figured out the right distance.
Ok - enough performance tips. How about an actual review?
I find the overall gimmick well built. I wish refills for the "top card" were more readily
available from sites like Penguin or Murphys etc but you CAN get them from the creator. They provide
a red and a blue top card and ONE 3d printed plastic holder to attach to the boom deck. I found the
3d printed holder to be SLIGHTLY loose after a few performances so I used some rubber cement and it
gave the necessary extra grip to stay on during performance. Worked well.
It's slightly
"knacky" at first but it's not bad. Again - practice makes perfect.
I LOVE this trick -
it's absolutely 100% surprising to everyone and it's SO fun when it exploads!
Honestly, the
flipping over of the deck to the signed card isn't the best part...the explosion is. So EVEN IF it
"fails" and doesn't flip (or flips too far and blows the top card off), it doesn't matter much.
They're too busy laughing and screaming in surprise to notice. I just bend over, pick up the deck,
fix whatever I need, and say LOOK! It separated right at your card!!
They don't care. They
care that their stupid finger gun blew up the deck. THAT is the trick. Finding a card is just a
little bonus.
Very disappointing, Originally I was very excited to get this but I was leary about it. I'm sorry to
say that my hunch was spot on as I followed all instructions in the video material exactly as
presented. Without giving the secret away, for e.g. the signed card trick effect suggests when
loading the device in addition to the spectators signed card that you use appx. 9 to 10 cards along
with it. After trying several times and eliminating the number of cards loaded with each attempt I
couldn't get not one card to flip over much less 10. If you buy this, buy at your own risk. A word
of advice if you do buy it, since flash Cotton is obviously required I suggest that you only use
white because discoloration of the device will definitely be noticeable after multiple usage. Better
advice: Don't buy and save your money. I will be contacting Penguin on the next business day to
return this and request a full refund.
I couldn’t wait for boom deck to arrive. Must admit been disappointed ☹️ when it did. Especially for
the price. I have set everything up step by step. Still it’s not working properly. Don’t want to say
too much to spoil what actually happens, but it does not seem to go off properly.
It could be
one of 2 things. Going to try different cotton from another supplier. If not it’s something else.
Hopefully I get it to work cause really looking forward to the effect.
the magic was great one of my best
Great crowd response to this effect. Gimmick can be finicky so not something you can do repeatedly.
Hasn’t failed me yet in performance, but sporadically failed during rehearsal. I enjoy doing this
trick very much.
I just received mine and couldn’t get into the package because the sleeve of the packaging was too
tight or glued to the foam insert.
I’m not happy with this so far. The ad leads you to
believe it’s all electronic and it’s not, especially for the price.

I received mine a couple of days ago - well packed - performing a trick out of the box and it worked
as I never did something other before!!! It's so easy to handle it and to perform - in the meantime
I've created some routines by my self - I love this Gimmick!!!!
