Did not expect a silk to be included within the packaging for the cane. A very pleasant surprise. The action of the cane is quick (albeit loud), and the effect on an unsuspecting audience is excellent. It does not take long to learn to master the trick, but I would not rate this at 5 stars for the following reasons.

The device itself is a bit too large, and it can be difficult to properly conceal within your palm - unless you have very large hands. I also found that the cane needs constant polishing. The finish quickly becomes dulled with use, and leaves a dark residue on the silk. A silver tarnish remover worked reasonably well for re-establishing sufficient luster, but it would be nice if some care and use instructions had been included so one would know what solvents are safe to use (including lubricants).

The same was also true for learning to close the cane the first time - which proved to be a real challenge. Once you learn how to do it, the process is not difficult, but I would definitely have appreciated some instructions instead of being concerned I might be ruining my newly aquired device.

I recently purchased the cane and its amazing. It opens really really fast. It has a hole in the lock to attach a silk to pull thru your hand before the cane opens. The only down side is it takes some time to close it back. Thats why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. Other than that its awesome. Its better than the plastic ones.

I recently got this cane and I LOVE it!! I gave it a four because there are hardly any instructions and the one that it does have doesn't tell you how to collapse the cane back down. I did not expect a silk to come with the cane so that was a bonus. Overall I love it. very sturdy, and very strong mechanism. I would not recommend for someone with small hands.

i can compress it in under 30 seconds at fastest. also, it is more like a walking stick than a cane... but thats better becus its bigger!

This metal device is far superior than the plastic one. I bought the plastic one first and was very disappointed. Spend the extra fer dollars and get this one. It will save you in the long run.

This is quite a simple and good looking trick. The only bad part about it was the cane had a bit of oil on it when first used, but after a day or so, the oil goes away from regular use. It is worth the money you pay for it and this site had the cheapest one available.

This cane has a nice finish and color. My first was palstic... looked good but not very responsive. the next was metal looked not so hot worked well for a while but rusted. the finish on this new one is smooth and looks like it will last. The action is superb! it is a bit long when opened, which is a small problem.
