Guys, this is one of the most amazing lectures i bought from Penguin.

I DIDN'T KNOW MR. FARQUHAR UNTIL NOW.

This lecture is good for the effects and good for the tips that he gave us. So good tips for all level magicians.

This is one of the videos that make me clap my hands in almost all effects.

2 great advices he give us during the lecture are:

- DON'T RUN IF NOBODY IS CHASING YOU!
- EFFECT OVER METHOD !

Buy this lecture and you will understand what I am telling.

To the effects:

- Matrix express. Go to Penguin and see the video. I already know methods of coin matrix, but this is totally different. This matrix is for us magicians. Fool magicians with this kind of matrix. At the end of the video he also explains how to construct the gimmick. But guys, support this man. So clever effect that you should buy this from him.

- Coin across. An incredible easy method. At the end, you use the same gimmick of the first effect to end up clean. So good that you need to see. He tolds that the props comes with the Matrix Express.

- Next effect has 3 phases: oil and water, triumph, and from this point he begins using triumph to separate the colors and the suits. So clever method.

- CD / DVD effect. I liked so much this principle. You can predict an random selected film in an cd that is between the hands of the expectator.

Despite that, he gave more 2 bonus ideas with this same principle

If was only this would be enough, but he didn't stop there.

- The next effect is an invisible deck. When i heard this, i thought with myself : "Oh guy, another 20 minutes of invisible deck". Man, this is really amazing. He uses the invisible deck with the omni deck principle. I never saw this. He also explains what to do if someone caught you with the gimmick in your hand (something that he said never happened to him).

- After that, a version of the trick that fooled Penn and Teller. If you don't saw this, look at YouTube and you will be amazed. He teaches a similar version. Only a different thing about that. You need to see this.

At the end of this trick, he gave a bonus that WORTH'S THE VALUE OF THE VIDEO.

After this he begins with the tips for all levels of magicians.

Before ending, he shows more 2 tricks:

- Torn 2. Again, see the preview here. Fist time i saw an torn and restore with an photo. So fluid. The method is so simple and ingenious.

- The last thing he showed was an effect with an kind of Mullica pocket wallet. It's a little different and he says he plans to release this. You will be able to load the card in an different and visual way.

Guys, from now on this will be an magician that I will follow.

Shawn is such a creative magician and it is a pleasure to have a little insight into his mind. He shows some great effects and his deck switch is simplistically beautiful! Highly recommend this lecture and his advice on EFFECT over METHOD is very much worth listening to.
I love these live lectures and each one delivers and then some! And for the price you really do get your moneys worth. Keep them coming penguin! (May i suggest a David Stone lecture please!) Oh and Shawn please hurry up on releasing Signed card into sealed box!!

I am not sure when this was filmed, but when I first bought this lecture back in 2013 or so, I was surprised to see so much magic involving cds and dvds. This technology was already disappearing in 2013, and so relevance of such material has been largely lost. The tricks do give you a look into the genius of Farquhar, but they don't do much to enhance your own magic.

Also, many of his tricks utilize his jacket. I do not perform with a jacket, so a good portion of this lecture of little use to me. If you perform with a jacket, there may be some great material in here for you.

Here are some of the tricks that I have utilized: 3-fly routine, some ideas for omni deck, and his oil and water routine. All great routines, but I'm not sure this lecture was worth the $20 in the end. Also, be prepared to make some gimmicks or buy the gimmicks he sells to do most of the routines here.

Shawn is one of the coolest magicians I have ever seen and personally met. He makes everything he does look effortless and enjoyable. The thing I love most about Shawn is that he looks like his having fun whether the crowd is or not. But they are having fun because "How could you NOT love this guy."

Shawn teaches a few illusions on this site that I already own from him, yet I walked away much richer for buying this Letcher. You will not be disappointed in anyway with Shawn's approach to some of his own effects. And the cool thing is that he has made them available for us at Penguin Magic. So if you see something you really like but don't have the means to create it yourself, Shawn has already done all of the dirty work for you. FANTASTIC.

Looking for the secret to the card trick that fooled Penn & Teller? Sorry, but he gives you a method that is just as impressive to the lay person and magicians alike.

This lecture gave me the foothold to start taking magic more seriously. I'm now gearing up for my first gig, a wedding in December where I will be using at least two of the effects taught in this lecture. Thank you so much Shawn for doing this.

I got to see Shawn lecture in Kansas City and thoroughly enjoyed it. This online lecture now gives me the opportunity to watch and learn from the lecture over and over again so I can pick up all of the little things that often get forgetten when attending a live lecture.

When I purchased this, it was advertised along with Shawn's original Fool Us performance (card to sealed box in spectator's hand). Now, the ad copy didn't say this effect was taught... BUT did imply it. Please note - this effect is NOT taught in the lecture. However, a lesser version of this effect called RSVP, which can you purchase as a standalone effect, -is- taught.

That issue aside, the lecture is absolutely great. Shawn's stuff is smart, interesting, and he's a great teacher here. He throws in many bonus ideas. This is a good value lecture as it includes a couple of his effects bundled into one place at a good value price.

At first I watched the beginning and was ready to sit through some material that I already knew and performed. Then came the Deck switch. I am a working professional, specializing in walk around magic and his deck switch is worth the price of the whole lecture! Definitely highly recommend this one. Shawn did a nice job.

This guys great with some really cool ideas. Unfortunately the Penguin live audience must have thought they were at a funeral with the feedback they were giving. This isn't the first Live show of Penguins I've watched were the audience gave nothing. No questions to effects nothing, it was embarrassing. Also no introduction to Shawn at the start like they usually give. Shawn and the people who pay deserve a better atmosphere from live shows Penguin.
