I enjoyed the lecture by Jon but I think a few more trick could have been added. I have seen Jon
perform stand-up and two strong pieces that he uses in his stand-up act are taught in this lecture.
These are his bottle production and billet switch bag. Jon is a very good teacher and goes through
everything in great detail. The force taught near the end of the download is worth the price of the
download. I would recommend this download for stand-up performers more than close-up as I felt the
close up material wasn't as strong as the stand-up. Overall, a good lecture for a good price.

This lecture was great!
Among other tricks/effects, I enjoyed John's Grabit production (an
advanced production for bottles, books, anything), his bill switch (without an TT!!), his rubberband
magic (4 phase routine) and the card force he told right at the end of the lecture.
Note,
that I have seen so far the lectures of Joshua Jay, Dani Garcia, Jay Sankey, David Roth and Shawn
Farquar. I rank this lecture third place, since I slightly prefer Joshua's and Dani's lecture.

Lots of clever ideas. And he pays attention to why some approaches work better than others and
makes changes to tricks accordingly.

This was a fantastic lecture with great effects! One of the effects I will use is the bottle
production which I have modified to use with a silk! Thanks Jon Allen!
Jon Allen is one of my favorite magicians and this lecture was awesome. I had the privilege of
seeing him perform his lecture back in 2010 at Tannens magic shop in NYC. When I saw he was doing a
Penguin Live Lecture, I had to see it again. He teaches some great magic with cards, rubber bands,
some parlor stuff, stage, and mentalism so their is something for everyone.
I really
enjoyed his card stuff which includes a false cut, a fancy four card production and some single
effects. As Nathan said "The Buck Twins would be proud". Also as mentioned in previous reviews,
the card force at the end was amazing! Also another highlight was an thumb tip less 100 dollar bill
switch which was fabulous. That's right say that again.
On another note he did forget to
teach one of the card tricks he shown which would of been cool to learn and he didn't cover some
stuff that he did in NYC that would of been great. But overall I enjoy watching him perform, very
confident and experienced with a lot of great advance that you'll hear at the end during the Q and A
and I think you would get a lot out of this lecture.
If he lectures again, count me in.
Some material was very nice and well taught but other material was not strong magic. The lecture
gives you simple stuff to do not advanced stuff like i expected

Jon taught some very commercial magic that can be used in strolling, restaurant and casual settings.

I tried to get into his teaching style and into him. I actually got his Experience book for
Christmas...and I feel the same about that. I'm not into his style. I am going to keep trying...
Just nothing in this lecture that really sparked for me. I wanted to like him...I've heard
lots of great things about his work. Honestly, I would have rather gotten another lecture instead of
this one. And honestly, I wish I hadn't asked for his book either.
Just not that into him
and wishing I was.
