I started doing Out of this World about 65 years ago when my father's friend taught it to me. It is
one of the tricks that get the most amazed reactions from spectators. I've seen variations over the
years, some of which were very clever, others not so good. The original Curry version (along Harry
Lorayne's Out of this Universe)remained my 2 favorites.
Cosmos Duo adds elements that, I
believe, make it even better than the original, and on a par with Out of this Universe
This was
one of my best purchases from Penguin.

Let me just clarify something:
TRUE: you probably already own the gimmick.
And
so what? Had you thought about using the gimmick that particular way? NO. You have paid for the
secret, and NOT for a wonderful gimmick! Now that you know how to do it, you will be able to create
a moment of real magic... And you know what? This is priceless.
Greg teaches very well, and
he gives ideas that are simply GREAT!
Thanks Greg!

When I got this in the mail, I was a little disappointing because it work with the gimmick deck I
already have (Rather not name it). I was like, I could figure it out on my own by watching this
video! Boy, I was wrong. I'll never figure it out if I didn't brought this DVD. After watching it, I
was beam up with exciting and couldn't wait to perform it. I tried it on my roommate and it blow him
away! Don't hesitate. Buy it!

The way this is accomplished is absolutely genius! What an elegant trick. I've had such a good
response to this trick. It's an absolute favorite that I will be keeping on me at all times. Takes a
little practice, but not much at all. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

I was expecting some super cool gimmick, and was disappointed to recieve a [gimmick] that I and 99%
of magicians will already have in their arsenal. However, after watching the DVD, you realize the
genius in how the [gimmick] is utilized. Deducted 1 star because it could have been sold as a
download because almost everyone will already have the [gimmick] needed, and if not, then an extra
$5 would be well invested.

This effect is a jaw-dropper, and is easy to do with a modicum of audience management and some
practice to smooth out the one 'move'. Also, there are zero angle problems. Mainly, though, this is
stronger (i.e., more magical/mystifying) than any other OOTW effects I know. I will definitely be
using this unless I am stuck with an ungimmicked deck, in which case I will use Harry Lorayne's
Impromptu OOTW.

I have seen at least a few methods for an Out of This World type effect but I can not think of any
that actually let you display a shuffled deck to the spectator. This is a clever use of an old magic
prop that yes most magicians SHOULD have from when they first got into magic. If done correctly
there should be no suspicious moves or anything yet you can perform the effect flawlessly. I also
enjoyed the method for "correcting" the outcome once they are done dealing and I really like the
fact no indicator cards are used. Pair that with the fact you can stop them to check their progress
without any memory or counting work and you have a winner with Cosmos Duo. I also want to point out
he includes a way to do Cosmos Duo with a borrowed regular deck. It's not a whole lot different but
you get an extra tricked worked into it so that's kind of nice. The kickers are also pretty neat as
well but I want to note that the one with two cards on the table does not always work but he has an
out for it if it doesn't. Also included is Cosmos I, which uses a regular deck.
All
together GREAT instructional DVD with a clever way to show the deck legitimately shuffled and if
careful you can even have them shuffle! Nothing groundbreaking but a very nice take on the classic
plot.

after watching the demo i was pretty skeptical. i mean... you hand the spectator a shuffled pack of
cards( that you could have THEM shuffle if you wished) , they separate it into a perfect 26/ 26, and
then they're all right.....i figured it was some kind of sneaky advertising that didn't include a
move in the demo, or worded itself just right to dance around a giant flaw, But i was dead wrong.
This effect is perfect in every way in my opinion. the "gimmick" is one very common for us, and is
easily obtained if yours ever gets worn. making this an effect you can do for the rest of your life.
That alone makes it worth the money. If your interested in the out of this world plot i recommend
picking this up. You wont regret it.

I would have been very happy with this if I had been told specifically what the gimmick was before
the purchase. Yes, several comments said that it was a gimmick that we probably already owned but
used in a new way. I suspected it was a variant on the most standard gaffed deck and was looking
forward to receiving it in the mail. As it turned out it was just the normal gaff used in the same
way as many other OTW routines employ. I also made the mistake of selecting the flat pack shipping
which I expected would not have the outside packaging but was surprised to find the cards loose in
the envelope and no folded card box to put them in.
The routine is great and the
instruction excellent. Greg Rostami knows his subject well. He has obviously tested and refined his
presentation in the real world. I have studied OTW and own most of the printed versions, including
the more recent compilation Best Of All Worlds. Even so I learned a couple of things from Cosmos Duo
and am appreciative that Mr. Rostami has shared his working of it. The routine and instruction
deserves 5 stars. Unfortunately the misinformation about the gaff took away from what would have
been a stellar Cosmo Duo.
