RISE & SHINE by Dan Hauss (DVD)

Cause multiple cards to rise from your pocket. This can all be accomplished with a borrowed deck and uses no threads, no magnets, no weights or electronics.
$5 FLAT-RATE SHIPPING TO UNITED STATES. FREE SHIPPING ON ORDERS OVER $100.
Price: $9.95

Two spectators freely select cards from a normal deck, sign them and place them back in the deck. You place the cards in your shirt pocket; close your eyes and concentrate. Slowly the first signed card rises out of your pocket from within the deck. The rise happens with your hands nowhere near your pocket and in full view of your audience at all times.

If that wasn't shocking enough, the second signed card eerily rises out. This can all be accomplished with a borrowed deck and uses no threads, no magnets, no weights or electronics. The rise is completely under your control.

As an added bonus, the secret behind Rise and Shine allows you to rise many other items, such as, credit cards, business cards, licenses, pens, packs of gum and more.

Dan Hauss took a dump and said,"Hey, I'm gonna sell this!" NO DAN!!! DON'T SELL YOUR CRAP! WHY WOULD YOU SELL CRAP???This is by all means the most impratical thing I've ever wasted my cash on. First off, you have to make the gimmick, no biggie. Then you have to ruin a shirt, if it gets reactions then okay. Now you get to walk around with a friggen window blind in your shirt as it digs into your pelvis and cuts your man-tit. WTF!!!!! This gets no reactions because no one is using it, it's impossible to perform! There are tricks like Galdini's Rising card that are like $20-30 and are well worth it. This should be beaten with sticks. End of rant.

worst magic trick I've ever bought!!! Report this review

I purchased this effect from paper crane thinking it would be amazing since there were no strings or magnets involved. No, this effect is by far the most impractical and uncomfortable trick you will ever buy. The gimmick is great if you're some homeless magician on the street!!! This was very disappointing. Don't acknowledge the positive review below. Rise and shine is clever to an extent, but not to be charging $10 for. This should have been free in my opinion. If you want to get something decent from dan hauss, buy flink flop.

The End all Review for Rise and Shine Report this review

Before reading my review. Read the others (the low star reviews). Don't worry, I'm still here. Just read them. Ok, that out of the way, I was very hesitant to check this trick out. Eventually traded a friend and got my hands on it as a bonus. Looked through all of it. So lets get to the nitty gritty details while avoiding the Scary Penguin Edit (hehe).

Pros:
-One of the easiest Rising Cards out there (Trust me, I've seen a lot)
-Practical (contrary to what others say...)
-If you clip the gimmick, you can't injure yourself as others state, wonder why nobody thought of using nail clippers to be safe
-You can continue your card effects as the deck is ungimmicked
-PERFECT if you're strolling. Include this in a 3 trick set, and you're golden.
-Easy Cleanup (Close Shirt pocket, you WILL need a flap to close that overskirt pocket if you wish to end "clean"
-Shirt not destroyed as another states, just a very small edition made
-Worth the $10 pricetag

Cons:
-Gimmick takes a sec to setup
-You CANNOT sit down without removing the gimmick first. (Read other review for hints of it)
-You must cleverly maneuver the gimmick post performance (after the performance) so it won't dig into you. (thoughts below)

Other Thoughts:
-If you can create a miniature pocket you can set the gimmick into in the pants section, it would alleviate discomfort.
-If you're doing an act in a set location and not moving much, and want something cool in your act, this WORKS!

All in All, if you're the sitting type don't bother with this effect, you need to stand. If in a set place, performing for a bday party in a set location, its PERFECT, still viable if you're strolling. Can be a stand alone effect, but I think its better in a small walk around set.

Its clever, and I like it. Recommended.

The idea is very clever and I haven't seen it before. I have also performed this and it does work WITH SOME PRACTISE! The reactions are also amazing as it does seem to just be impossible. The other review I saw for this product is very harsh and not true. I can honestly say that this is yet another brilliant idea from Dan.
