I do walk around work, this method has some angle issues that make it bad for walk around and/or large crowds. It's still a good method, but probably should have been closer to a $15 price point. Much of the DVD is wasted on the Mengel brothers backstory. I had a hard time understanding them at points, but watching multiple times cleared that right up. I've seen this effect elsewhere, just can't recall where a few years back, so the method definitely isn't new, this is just a different handling of it.

Wait for it to go on sale.

Well, i can understand the bad reviews... most (young) people want a quick fix, consume and move to the next best thing on earth...
If you dont want to hear about their (sympathic) backround, just skip to the explanation section. I enjoyed the little story because it shows passion for our art. A lot of thoughts went obviously into this project. (for example the last section with commented performances and hints on improvements!).

The angles are really good if you know about and care about them, nothing to worry about. If you have a mirror at home you are ready to go.

The signed coin is signed if you just see it from your spectators point of view! That is the way magic works and it ever was..
The best version is number two! Just a little hint: "borrow" the pen ;)
The mechanics are simple and the clean up (2 of 3 versions which are described) really made me smile. Just go out and perform it in the right moment and iam sure nobody will question the impact it has on spectators.

As for the price... what is right, what is wrong?! As for W.H. sinful: it should have sold for a much higher price to maybe avoid the stupid youtube kids.
If you are not able to appreciate passion, love and positive energy leading to a pure and bold effect.. simply move on! :) The demo does not lie at all, you can just perform it that way.

This is an amazing coin in soda can trick that will leave people stun. I watch the it so many times before I bought it to see if I could figure it out and I had no idea how it was done. I have two other soda can tricks witch are also great and this one could be a follow up of the coin in the close soda can where you pour out the soda and the coin is inside. I order this on a download because I did not want to wait for the dvd and I wanted to learn it quick. The only regret that I have is that the beginning of this video Johannes Mengel goes into unnecessary background that is boring and has nothing to do with the the trick. Besides that,the trick is great and his explanations and details are very good. The price is a bit to high but buy it and you will be amazed how simple and strong this trick is.

To me this tricks fits perfectly when I'm out with friends or socialising at the bar and so on. It ticks all the boxes for what I'm looking for in a trick: It's impromptu (or at least it has that impromptu feeling), it's not that difficult, angles are good, the clean up is easy and it got that organic feel I think we magicians always struggle to find. The ad for this trick may perhaps be a little bit off to how this trick really is done, but I'm okay with that since it's one of those trick you can do on the spot and it's easy to get in to and easy to get out of.

Some reviews says that's it easy for spectator to figure out, but after been doing this a dozen of times already, I'll at least have to deny that for myself – no one has a clue of anything and the reactions are overall great.

Since the can is open in this trick, I don't want to compare it to Sinful by Wayne Houchin. But to me that's great since I now have to variations of the same trick. In certain situations I can do Sinful and in other I can do Breakthrough.

The explanations are thoroughly and clear. You'll teach everything you need to know, and some variations. As for the length of the video, I think it could've been a little bit shorter, but again, they leave no stone unturned.

This has already gone in to my casual reportoire for when I'm at parties with friends or in any situation where people drink soda or beer from can. Excellent stuff! Highly recommend!

Now while I do believe that Breakthrough is a bit (just a bit) overpriced, It's a very easy to learn trick and very impromptu. Like myself, most of you will probably be a bit surprised on how exactly Breakthrough works. I'm sure many of you (again like myself) think you pretty much have the trick figured but I can assure you that their's a high possibility that you really don't.

Breakthrough is very unique, Requires small skills and knowledge of sleight of hand, if you happen to have Sinful as well it can be done right after doing that trick, and it can be done anywhere, surrounded or not.

Also, the video is 2 hours. I suggest watching the whole thing and practicing afterwards (that's what I did and soon as I finished watching I was able to do it perfect at first try on my mom and got a priceless reaction). Though it seems a bit long it's very entertaining and funny so regardless you lose track of time.

I recommend Breakthrough to anyone who's on any level of magic whether it's beginner, intermediate, or advanced. Bottom line, very great trick, simple to learn, and has already been added to my repertoire.

I always LOVED Wayne Houchin's effect sinful, and personally i think this takes it to the next level.

everything that the ad copy states is 100% true and i personally think it is more practical than sinful from a performing situation perspective, in terms of method it is just as practical.

a perfect mix of both audio and visual along with a nearly sleight free handling that makes this look so perfect, fair and clean.

I perform another can penetration effect but more complicated. This one is very organic and simple. In fact even if not performed perfectly there are subtleties that convince the spectator of a miracle.

They used moves that are not actually new, but together are perfect.

The DVD was a bit long but worth it in the end. Interesting story. Johannes leaves NOTHING out. It covers so many of the ins, outs, nuances and possible variations that if you can not perform it, it not because of the instructions. He puts alot of work into it.

I gave it a 4 instead of a 5 as I thought as an Instant Download cost of 29.99 is actually a bit high as I do not get a physical DVD (adds to cost).

First let me address 2 things before I get started. I know I'm not a verified buyer of this product from Penguin (I obtained it elsewhere) but I am a verified buyer of Johannes' "Breaking Point" which you DEFINITELY NEED TO CHECK OUT ALSO!!! Secondly, as for the reviews complaining about the length of this DVD vs the actual time to explain the "secret", ANYONE WHO PURCHASED THIS DVD AND DID NOT WATCH IT COMPLETELY OR PASSED ON THE BONUS MATERIAL NEEDS TO GO BACK RIGHT NOW AND FINISH WATCHING EVERYTHING!!
Johannes has become one of my favorite up and coming creators. He is one of the best teachers for an effect I've come across. His passion for the art and making sure you, as a performer, have the best understanding of the effect with as much knowledge as himself is unheard of!! Most of the instructional material people offer is short, dry and almost feels forced for some...or the creator seems almost annoyed and you can just tell hes just trying to make his next buck. NOT JOHANNES!! Hes genuine. Hes sincere. He will email you back. He will give you pointers. He actually cares about you pulling off his effects and making them look good.

I was honestly very skeptical about this at first (similar to Breaking Point), but only because of a few of my "recent" magic purchases. These 2 effects are groundbreaking!! and I really hope it will make other creators step their game up with their products. Sure he could've spent 1 day filming 15mins worth of material and spit it out for $20...but he didnt!! He spent a lot of time to give you the best product possible leaving you trying to remember everything he covered because you're literally left with no questions!!! And if for some crazy reason you have a question he doesnt cover (which I have no idea how that could be) hes a genuine guy that will email you back with guidance.

I know this is a longer review than most, but I honestly think this product deserves it. I also dont believe there is a coin into can routine that is more convincing or clean!!

To finish, as for those of you claiming he "stole" Sinful...sorry, but NO HE DIDNT!! NOT THE SAME EFFECT AT ALL!! I will say (and Johannes also states on his explanation) that this will follow up Sinful very nicely. So dont put off grabbing this just because you already have Sinful.

This is 100% a must buy and is guaranteed to be one of your go to organic, impromptu effects that you will master fairly quickly. Certain versions you can literally perform after just a few mins with a friend or in front of a mirror.

Breakthrough is a fantastic effect, is very visual and easy to perform. Is very powerful to the audience because you are using everyday objects like a can and a coin. In the DVD , Johannes teach you step by step the effect and in different angles. Also there are a lot of variations and the best of all is that is impromptu. Obviously you have to practice a lot to be natural. Great effect, very smart idea and nice guy. Very recommended.
