I like Nathan and he is a funny guy. I get his humor but this was not good. One could say this was an organic lecture (used strawberries and other food), but so is poop. This lecture was filled with effects you might, and I mean might use one to fill a dead space so your other stuff would stand out. Every trick was like this, most with no motivation or real routine that made sense. If he did some visual magic with them, like Rocco for instance then the weird stuff could be cool, again sorry for the big neg. It wasn't magical, more puzzling maybe. Many of these effects looked like he was still working them out... no new anything except maybe changing food for coins? No sleights really worked out on a few of them, it was embarrassing I thought. It looked like: "let me throw some stuff together today for a lecture tonight." Sorry, I hated it.

I'm generally a big fan of Nathans work, but I was very disappointed with this lecture. His first two were great, but I can honestly say I took nothing away from this one.

Disappointing Report this review
Verified buyer Pro Privacy ON (login to see reviewer names) on July 14th, 2014
The only worthwhile trick was coin through silk and linking pretzel. everything else taught uses very, very basic sleights, no new ideas or concepts or anything practical I would use. No t one trick fooled me in the performance. He looks unenthuzed, almost like he knows he's not giving us much. Comparing this lecture to any of the past 10 that penguin has put out and this is many many notches below all other performers. I haven't seen his first two lectures but this was not so good. Don't buy this.

Depends on your level Report this review

I consider myself above intermediate. I took the lecture for what it was; "impromptu" magic with everyday objects. Honestly, try to come up with material that uses everyday objects...it's not that easy. Yea, nothing ground breaking on the lecture, but it's a good refresher because we all know we have a lot of things that we've forgotten about. Lecture is not bad, again....this was his 3rd lecture on Penguin, he already gave you his "best" on the previous lectures

Unfortunate Report this review

His 2nd lecture was my favourite.

This one unfortunately was filled with tiny little ideas which were ok. All of the effects were performed poorly and it was just disappointing.

Buy the 2nd one.

I love Nathan Kranzo's magic! I love how all his magic is creative and out of the box thinking! In this lecture, he teaches everything very clearly and made a really fun and enjoyable at the same time! This is a lot of stuff that would be great for just hanging out at a party and want to blow some minds. The best part about his lecture is that everything was so simple! There were no crazy set ups to any of the tricks! 90% Of the lecture was stuff you can do immediately after learning! This is one of my favorite lectures because of the simplicity of all the effects and it is stuff you can make fit to any style of magic! I definitely would recommend this lecture!

3 Stars for some ideas Report this review
Verified buyer Pro Privacy ON (login to see reviewer names) on October 17th, 2015
I give this lecture 3 stars. The tricks aren't that bad, but not that good either. I just give it 3 stars because I got some ideas to make some new tricks out of this. But seriously... He dropped things while his tricks for like 10 times. I don't think he ever use the tricks himself. If he would he could handle them better or if he really use them - pitifully audience.
If he show tricks in a lecture he should be able to perform them himself without messing them up.

Nathan teaches a lot of tricks in this lecture. Yes a lot of them are old ideas but he added something to all of them. Also he teaches a lot of real world material. Including:
Voodoo Bill a lot like guy hollingworths but everything is signed and can be borrowed objects
Hhis idea with the appearing strawberry: this principle can be applied to make anything appear in your mouth
Age of travel a very travelers using food yes it uses basic sleights but it looks like it could be very good
Hot sauce production look on the outside the box trailer it's awesome
Coin thru silk very cool and very visual as we'll it's even better than micheal ammar

Nathan taught soooooo much more but those were my favorites. Go check out his lecture
