What will he teach?

A mixture of visual close-up magic and mentalism utilizing a mixture of sleight of hand and cunning gimmicks, cracked open and fully explored! Dave will perform and explain many of his marketed routines including Colour Burn, Nothing In Transit, STAR - T&R card, Damage, and Loxley. Dave will also divulge some of his lesser known material, too.

Attempting to answer the one question he's asked most often: "How do you come up with tricks?", Dave will provide you with real insight into construction and method choice, the balance of practicality and effect, dissecting the gaff - insight into creating and making gaffs and gimmicks, inspiration, motivation, material choices, sleight of hand vs. gaffs, and much more.

Who is he?

Dave Forrest hails from Scotland and has been performing and creating magic for over 15 years. In that time, he has released some best-selling effects, the unusual methods for which have caught the eye of some of magic's biggest names. Effects like C.T.W, Colour Burn, STAR, Nothing In Transit, Cubism, Smoke Rings, Encased, Damage and Loxley among many others, have ensured that Dave's creative yet practical methods are constantly in demand.

In 2004, Dave formed Full 52 Productions, a magic production company that, over the years, has worked directly with some of magic's finest exponents including David Regal, Mark Elsdon, Cameron Francis and Andi Gladwin among others. Full 52 continues to produce products to the high standard that its loyal followers have come to expect and the 'boutique' company has gone from strength to strength in its 10 years of operation.

Dave is also a noted performer and lectures regularly at many UK conventions and magic clubs. Last year he secured the famous Zena Bennet Trophy for Exceptional Skill with Playing Cards in the IBM close-up competition. He has also performed in the States on several occasions including an appearance at 'MAGIC Live' and two separate week long engagements at the world famous Magic Castle in Hollywood. This, in addition to numerous inclusions in various magic magazines, including a one man issue in Joshua Jay's 'Talk About Tricks' column, brings us up to speed with Dave Forrest's endeavors in magic to date.

Great ideas, great tricks with cards, holes and card restoration tricks. Few sleight of hands tricks too. I trully recommend that lecture!

I really enjoyed Dave's lecture.
There's a lot there, but if you don't like card tricks you'll probably not enjoy it, but I do so it's all good.

There's something there for all skills, and Dave combines different bits that you may have seen before to make something new.

In addition, I enjoyed Dave's delivery and humour. I also enjoyed that Dave provided some insight into his trick creation process and some good tips on how to add elements to your magic that helps increase the impact of your tricks and help leave a lasting impression.

One of the best lectures for cards.
Usually, even for an amazing lecture, I keep 1 or 2 tricks to perform myself: for this one, it's almost half of it!

You also get great thoughts on creating routines (from one of the most prolific creator).

Dave Forrest, as many lecturers spend a whole lecture taking a deck of cards of the pockets. The presentation of Dan Harlan don’t warn you that most of the lecture will be mostly about card magic. Most Penguin lecturers spend great part of their time only with a bicycle box and a deck a cards leaving a great part of the public truly disappointed. Most professional magicians are expected to do magic with much more than only a deck of cards: metal bending, ropes, coins, cups and balls, mentalism, etc
Dave Forrest is very hard to understand in english because he rush the words to fast speaking on his Scottish accent.
Unfortunately his lecture is not positive in any way to develop your magic skills.
