This effect is one of the best that I've learned in a long time. Its completely impromptu and I get
amazing reactions.Though I think that the second phase isn't really needed. Because if you could
link a ring on a rubberband then you would hand it back linked, not in a weird loop. So I think that
was sort of unnecessary. The one small con is just that the audio in the download was very quiet and
it can be hard to hear him at some points, and he does leave out some small subtleties on the secret
moves that he teaches so it's a bit hard to catch on at first. But other than that this is one of
those out of the blue effects that you can perform on the street or to your friends. Highly
reccomend this!

VERBL is a visually shocking effect where a ring and rubber band appear to melt through each other
in different phases. The method is clever and easy to learn, though it 100% will require practice
and developing muscle memory to do it quickly and smoothly while guarding your angles. (It's not
terribly angle sensitive, though, and Kyle points out the big danger spot, which is easy enough to
hide).
Pros:
Incredibly Visual: The effect is highly visual and will leave your
spectators baffled. The first phase especially seems flat-out impossible, especially when done with
a borrowed ring.
Impromptu: While there is a brief set-up, there are no gimmicks. Tt can
(and should) be performed with a borrowed ring, and even a borrowed rubber band if you find one of
the right size. And, naturally, since there are no gimmicks, you end clean.
Easy to Learn:
The instructions are clear and concise, making it relatively easy to master with dedicated practice.
Kyle repeats the actions from different camera angles so you can see how it's done step-by-step.
He's a quality teacher.
Cons:
The only possible weak spot is there is a set-up,
and while it is very short and simple (Kyle suggests it's 2 seconds, and that's probably right),
it's still a *dangerous* 2 seconds because you're doing it with a borrowed ring. Not easy to get
people to look away from a piece of their property you're fooling around with.
I wish
there had been suggestions on how to do this - maybe you pretend you're testing out the rubber band
to make sure it won't snap? I'm not sure.
Overall:
Get it. VERBL is a solid
addition to any magician's repertoire. The visual impact is undeniable, and with consistent
practice, it can become a reliable and impressive impromptu effect. I recommend it to magicians who
enjoy visual magic and are willing to invest the time to perfect the technique.
Fun impromptu illusion that shows very well. FYI, some rubber bands work better than others, but
you'll find the right ones in no time. The actual manipulation will take some time to learn, but
like anything of value, invest the time and the payback is worth it. Same here. No, we're not
talking years like your college degree, but it will take more than a couple of minutes as implied in
the vid. Let's say 20 minutes...
In closing, a great 5 buck trick that, once learned, you
perform many, many times.
Get it!
- There is no Gimmick involved.
- The teaching is clear.
- The price is really cheap.
-
Is really visual as you see in the video.
- The setup could be long at first, but then is not a
problem.
I Love ring on rubber band tricks, and this is my favourite.
It's okay... Your going to need the right type of rubber band to perform this comfortably. And the
setup is not easy and will not take "2 seconds". It'll take at least 5-7 seconds with a lot of
practice as your starting off maybe 8-10 seconds. Also it looks pretty odd as your setting up in
front of a spectator and it'll look even weirder if you go up to the spectator with he setup already
done
